Smith,Reed Riddle,Michael Feeney,Michael Porter,David Hale,Jeffry Zolkower,Justin Belicki,Stephen Kaye,John Henning,Richard Walters,John Cromer,Alex Delacroix,Hector Rodriguez,Daniel J. Reiley,Peter H. Mao,David Hover,Patrick J. Murphy,Rick Burruss,John Baker,Marek Kowalski,Klaus Reif,Phillip Mueller,Eric C. Bellm,Matthew J. Graham,Shrinivas R. Kulkarni +25 more
TL;DR: The Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) Observing System (OS) as discussed by the authors is the data collector for the ZTF project to study astrophysical phenomena in the time domain.
Journal Article
OmegaCAM: the 16k×16k CCD camera for the VLT survey telescope
Konrad Kuijken,Ralf Bender,Enrico Cappellaro,B. Muschielok,Andrea Baruffolo,Enrico Cascone,Olaf Iwert,Wolfgang Mitsch,Harald Nicklas,Edwin A. Valentijn,Dietrich Baade,Kornelis Begeman,Alessandro Bortolussi,Danny Boxhoorn,Fabrice Christen,E. Deul,Christoph Geimer,Laura Greggio,R. Harke,R. Hafner,G. Hess,H.-J. Silber,Walter Wellem +36 more
TL;DR: The primary function of the VST and its instrument is to provide surveys in support of VLT science, be it in the form of large homogeneous multi-colour imaging surveys which form the basis for largescale spectroscopic follow-up work, or in its ability to find rare or extreme astronomical objects for further study.

Journal ArticleDOI
Hexapod control for an active secondary mirror: general concept and test results
TL;DR: The results show that the errors in the positioning of the secondary mirror lead to an aberration image well below the diffraction figure of the telescope.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
BUSCA: a telescope instrumentation for simultaneous imaging in four optical bands
Klaus Reif,Klaus Bagschik,Klaas S. de Boer,Juergen Schmoll,Philipp Mueller,Henning Poschmann,G. Klink,R. Kohley,Uli Heber,Ulrich Mebold +9 more
TL;DR: The Bonn University Simultaneous CAmera (BUSCA) as mentioned in this paper is a CCD camera system which allows simultaneous direct imaging of the same sky area in four colors using a 2m class telescope.
