Dynamic property of intermediate filaments: Regulation by phosphorylation

TL;DR: Site‐specific phosphorylation of intermediate filament (IF) proteins on serine and threonine residues leads to alteration of the filament structure in vitro and in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rab GTPases regulating phagosome maturation are differentially recruited to mycobacterial phagosomes.

TL;DR: It is suggested that phagosome maturation is achieved by a series of interactions between Rab GTPases and phagosomes and that differential recruitment of these Rab G TPases, except for Rab22b and Rab43, to M. tb‐containing phagosites is involved in arresting phagosite maturation and inhibiting phagolysosome biogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of a Polymorphic Gene, BCL2A1, Encoding Two Novel Hematopoietic Lineage-specific Minor Histocompatibility Antigens

TL;DR: The identification of two novel minor histocompatibility antigens (mHAgs), encoded by two separate single nucleotide polymorphisms on a single gene, BCL2A1, and restricted by human histOCompatibility leukocyte antigen (HLA)-A*2402 and B*4403, respectively, is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Visualization and function of vimentin phosphorylation by cdc2 kinase during mitosis.

TL;DR: Investigation of the role of intermediate filament (IF) protein phosphorylation by cdc2 kinase during mitosis and the degree of disassembly of vimentin filament of various cell types at early mitotic phase correlated well with the amount of mitotically activated cdc1 kinase.
