Journal ArticleDOI

Bi vulpeculae: a siamese twin with two very similar cool stars in shallow contact

TL;DR: In this paper, the first charge-coupled device (CCD) light curves of the binary in the BVRI obtained on 2012 August 21 are presented and are analyzed using the Wilson-Devinney code.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term decrease and cyclic variation in the orbital period of the eclipsing dwarf nova v2051 oph

TL;DR: In this paper, the changes in the orbital period of the white dwarf V2051 Oph have been investigated using all of the available mid-eclipse times, and a continuous period decrease with a rate of P = -5.93 x 10(-10) days yr(-1) was discovered to be superimposed on a periodic variation with a small amplitude of 0 000329 and a period of 21.64 years.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical flares and flaring oscillations on the M-type eclipsing binary CU Cancri

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the discovery of an optical flare observed in the R band from the red-dwarf eclipsing binary CU Cancri, whose component stars are at the upper boundary of full convection (M 1 = 0.43 M? and M 2= 0.4 M?, where M? is the solar mass).
Journal ArticleDOI

V753 Mon: A Unique Close Binary Just after the Evolutionary Stage with the Shortest Period during Mass Transfer

TL;DR: In this paper, the O-C curve of V753 Mon shows an upward parabolic change while undergoing a cyclic variation with a period of 13.5 yr. This is in agreement with the long-term increase of the orbital period.
Journal ArticleDOI

LAMOST views δ Scuti pulsating stars

TL;DR: In this article, the authors detect a group of unusual and cool variable stars (UCVs) that are distinguished from the normal delta Scuti stars (NDSTs) on the H-R diagram and the log g-T diagram, the UCVs are far beyond the red edge of pulsational instability trip.
