Control of the critical current density in YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 − δ films by means of intergrain and intragrain correlated defects
Enrica Mezzetti,Roberto Gerbaldo,Gianluca Ghigo,Laura Gozzelino,Bruno Minetti,Carlo Camerlingo,A. Monaco,Giacomo Cuttone,A. Rovelli +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison between the magnetic properties of a film with intrinsic grain-boundary defects and two films crossed by columnar defects with different densities is presented, in order to investigate the mechanisms controlling the current carrying capability of thin films.
Journal ArticleDOI
An improved method for quantitative magneto-optical analysis of superconductors
Francesco Laviano,Francesco Laviano,Francesco Laviano,Danilo Botta,Danilo Botta,Danilo Botta,Angelica Chiodoni,Angelica Chiodoni,Angelica Chiodoni,Roberto Gerbaldo,Roberto Gerbaldo,Roberto Gerbaldo,Gianluca Ghigo,Gianluca Ghigo,Gianluca Ghigo,Laura Gozzelino,Laura Gozzelino,Laura Gozzelino,S. Zannella,Enrica Mezzetti,Enrica Mezzetti,Enrica Mezzetti +21 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on the analysis method to extract quantitative local electrodynamics in superconductors by means of the magneto-optical technique, which is applied to measure local magnetic field and current distributions on a typical YBa2Cu3O7−x good quality film.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence of vortex curvature and anisotropic pinning in superconducting films by quantitative magneto-optics
Francesco Laviano,Francesco Laviano,Danilo Botta,Danilo Botta,Angelica Chiodoni,Angelica Chiodoni,Roberto Gerbaldo,Roberto Gerbaldo,Gianluca Ghigo,Gianluca Ghigo,Laura Gozzelino,Laura Gozzelino,Enrica Mezzetti,Enrica Mezzetti +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the experimental observation of magnetic field line curvature at the surface of a superconducting film by local quantitative magneto-optics, and study the interplay between the electrodynamical constraints dictated by the film geometry and the pinning properties of the superconductor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of disorder induced by heavy-ion irradiation on (Ba1−x K x )Fe2As2 single crystals, within the three-band Eliashberg s± wave model
Gianluca Ghigo,Gianluca Ghigo,Giovanni Ummarino,Giovanni Ummarino,Laura Gozzelino,Laura Gozzelino,Roberto Gerbaldo,Roberto Gerbaldo,Francesco Laviano,Francesco Laviano,Daniele Torsello,Daniele Torsello,Tsuyoshi Tamegai +12 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the three-band Eliashberg equations approach is able to explain in a consistent way the effects of disorder both on Tc and on λL(T), within the s± wave model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disorder-Driven Transition from s ± to s ++ Superconducting Order Parameter in Proton Irradiated Ba (Fe 1 -x Rh x ) 2 As 2 Single Crystals
Gianluca Ghigo,Gianluca Ghigo,Daniele Torsello,Daniele Torsello,Giovanni Ummarino,Giovanni Ummarino,Laura Gozzelino,Laura Gozzelino,Makariy A. Tanatar,Makariy A. Tanatar,Ruslan Prozorov,Ruslan Prozorov,Paul C. Canfield,Paul C. Canfield +13 more
TL;DR: An effective two-band approach is adopted, allowing us to treat disorder in a range between the Born approximation and the unitary limit, and it is shown how these experimental observations can be described by multiband Eliashberg calculations in which the effect of disorder is accounted for in a suitable way.
