Journal ArticleDOI
Pulmonary arterial hypertension
David Montani,Sven Günther,Peter Dorfmüller,Frédéric Perros,Barbara Girerd,Gilles Garcia,Xavier Jaïs,Laurent Savale,Elise Artaud-Macari,Laura C. Price,Marc Humbert,Gérald Simonneau,Olivier Sitbon +12 more
TL;DR: The current state of art regarding to epidemiologic aspects of PH, diagnostic approaches and the current classification of PH are discussed as well as future treatments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Survival in incident and prevalent cohorts of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension
Marc Humbert,Olivier Sitbon,Azzedine Yaici,David Montani,Dermot S. O'Callaghan,Xavier Jaïs,Florence Parent,Laurent Savale,Delphine Natali,Sven Günther,A. Chaouat,François Chabot,J.F. Cordier,Gilbert Habib,Virginie Gressin,Zhi-Cheng Jing,Rogério Souza,Gérald Simonneau +17 more
TL;DR: In the combined cohort of patients with idiopathic, familial and anorexigen-associated PAH, multivariable analysis showed that survival could be estimated by means of a novel risk-prediction equation using patient sex, 6-min walk distance, and cardiac output at diagnosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension in Patients Treated by Dasatinib
David Montani,Emmanuel Bergot,Sven Günther,Laurent Savale,Anne Bergeron,Arnaud Bourdin,Hélène Bouvaist,Matthieu Canuet,Christophe Pison,Margareth Macro,Patrice Poubeau,Barbara Girerd,Delphine Natali,Christophe Guignabert,Frédéric Perros,Dermot S. O'Callaghan,Xavier Jaïs,Pascale Tubert-Bitter,Gérard Zalcman,Olivier Sitbon,Gérald Simonneau,Marc Humbert +21 more
TL;DR: Dasatinib may induce severe precapillary PH fulfilling the criteria of pulmonary arterial hypertension, thus suggesting a direct and specific effect of dasatinIB on pulmonary vessels.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk assessment, prognosis and guideline implementation in pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Athénaïs Boucly,Athénaïs Boucly,Jason Weatherald,Jason Weatherald,Laurent Savale,Laurent Savale,Xavier Jaïs,Xavier Jaïs,Vincent Cottin,Grégoire Prévot,François Picard,Pascal de Groote,Mitja Jevnikar,Mitja Jevnikar,Emmanuel Bergot,Ari Chaouat,C. Chabanne,Arnaud Bourdin,Florence Parent,Florence Parent,David Montani,David Montani,Gérald Simonneau,Gérald Simonneau,Marc Humbert,Marc Humbert,Olivier Sitbon,Olivier Sitbon +27 more
TL;DR: A simplified risk assessment tool that quantifies the number of low-risk criteria present accurately predicted transplant-free survival in PAH and predicts prognosis at baseline and follow-up.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pulmonary veno-occlusive disease
David Montani,Edmund M.T. Lau,Peter Dorfmüller,Barbara Girerd,Xavier Jaïs,Laurent Savale,Frédéric Perros,Esther J. Nossent,Gilles Garcia,Florence Parent,Elie Fadel,Florent Soubrier,Olivier Sitbon,Gérald Simonneau,Marc Humbert +14 more
TL;DR: No evidence-based medical therapy exists for PVOD at present and lung transplantation remains the preferred definitive therapy for eligible patients, and advances such as discovery of the genetic basis of PVOD will pave way for future translational research.
