Cell–cell interaction in prostate gene regulation and cytodifferentiation
Alvin Y. Liu,Lawrence D. True,Leah LaTray,Peter S. Nelson,William J. Ellis,Robert L. Vessella,Paul H. Lange,Leroy Hood,Ger van den Engh +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that cell-cell interaction plays an important role in prostatic cytodifferentiation and the maintenance of the differentiated state and PSA expression by the CD57+ cells is abolished after prostate tissue is dispersed by collagenase into single cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Initial Results in Muscle-Invading Bladder Cancer of RTOG 95-06: Phase I/II Trial of Transurethral Surgery Plus Radiation Therapy with Concurrent Cisplatin and 5-Fluorouracil Followed by Selective Bladder Preservation or Cystectomy Depending on the Initial Response
Donald S. Kaufman,Kathryn Winter,William U. Shipley,Niall M. Heney,Michael Chetner,Luis Souhami,Robert A. Zlotecki,William T. Sause,Lawrence D. True +8 more
TL;DR: This aggressive protocol comprising local surgery plus concurrent 5-FU, cisplatin, 5-fluorouracil, and high-dose hypofractionated radiation has been associated with moderately severe hematologic toxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular profiling stratifies diverse phenotypes of treatment-refractory metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer
Mark P. Labrecque,Ilsa Coleman,Lisha G. Brown,Lawrence D. True,Lori Kollath,Bryce Lakely,Holly M. Nguyen,Yu C. Yang,Rui Costa,Arja Kaipainen,Roger Coleman,Celestia S. Higano,Evan Y. Yu,Evan Y. Yu,Heather H. Cheng,Heather H. Cheng,Elahe A. Mostaghel,Elahe A. Mostaghel,Bruce Montgomery,Bruce Montgomery,Michael T. Schweizer,Michael T. Schweizer,Andrew C. Hsieh,Andrew C. Hsieh,Daniel W. Lin,Daniel W. Lin,Eva Corey,Peter S. Nelson,Peter S. Nelson,Colm Morrissey +29 more
TL;DR: Deep phenotypic characterization of CRPC metastases and patient-derived xenograft lines using whole genome RNA sequencing, gene set enrichment analysis and immunohistochemistry revealed five mCRPC phenotypes based on the expression of well-characterized androgen receptor (AR) or neuroendocrine (NE) genes, highlighting the central role of AR and REST in classifying treatment-resistant mCR PC phenotypes.
Journal ArticleDOI
LuCaP Prostate Cancer Patient-Derived Xenografts Reflect the Molecular Heterogeneity of Advanced Disease an--d Serve as Models for Evaluating Cancer Therapeutics.
Holly M. Nguyen,Robert L. Vessella,Colm Morrissey,Lisha G. Brown,Ilsa Coleman,Celestia S. Higano,Elahe A. Mostaghel,Xiaotun Zhang,Lawrence D. True,Hung-Ming Lam,Martine Roudier,Paul H. Lange,Peter S. Nelson,Peter S. Nelson,Eva Corey +14 more
TL;DR: The objective was to establish and characterize patient‐derived xenografts from advanced prostate cancer for investigation of biology and evaluation of new treatment modalities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Positive Surgical Margins at Radical Prostatectomy Predict Prostate Cancer Specific Mortality
Jonathan L. Wright,Jonathan L. Wright,Bruce L. Dalkin,Lawrence D. True,William J. Ellis,Janet L. Stanford,Paul H. Lange,Daniel W. Lin,Daniel W. Lin +8 more
TL;DR: These data demonstrate the independent role of positive surgical margins in prostate cancer specific mortality and support the importance of optimizing surgical techniques to achieve a sound oncological surgical outcome with negative surgical margins when possible.
