TL;DR: It is reported that Cd exposure inhibits primary root growth via affecting RAM stem cell niche and root radial pattern, and for the first time Cd toxicity on root growth and pattern has been related to a misexpression of SCR transcription factors which is known to interplay with auxin/cytokinin cross-talk in the control of RAM maintenance and activity.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that estrogen receptor‐α (ERα)/LKB1 interaction may negatively interfere with the LKB1 capability to phosphorylate AMPK and inhibit its downstream signaling TSC2/mTOR/p70S6k and the handling of adiponectin, as a therapeutic tool in breast cancer treatment, needs to be carefully considered.
