Journal ArticleDOI
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 is a tumor stem cell-associated marker in lung cancer.
Feng Jiang,Qi Qiu,Abha Khanna,Nevins W. Todd,Janaki Deepak,Lingxiao Xing,Huijun Wang,Zhenqiu Liu,Yun Su,Sanford A. Stass,Ruth L. Katz +10 more
TL;DR: Immunohistochemical analysis of 303 clinical specimens from three independent cohorts of lung cancer patients and controls show that expression of ALDH1 is positively correlated with the stage and grade of lung tumors and related to a poor prognosis for the patients with early-stage lung cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early detection of lung adenocarcinoma in sputum by a panel of microRNA markers
Lei Yu,Nevins W. Todd,Lingxiao Xing,Ying Xie,Howard Zhang,Zhenqiu Liu,Hong-Bin Fang,Jian Zhang,Ruth L. Katz,Feng Jiang +9 more
TL;DR: A panel of miRNAs that can be used as highly sensitive and specific sputum markers for early detection of lung adenocarcinoma were developed and demonstrated the potential of translation to laboratory settings for improving the early detection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early detection of squamous cell lung cancer in sputum by a panel of microRNA markers
TL;DR: A panel of miRNAs that can be used as a sputum-based test for early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the lungs was developed and showed the potential to improve the early detection of lung squamouscell carcinomas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Downregulation of miR-486-5p contributes to tumor progression and metastasis by targeting protumorigenic ARHGAP5 in lung cancer
J. Wang,X Tian,R Han,Xin-hua Zhang,Xiaolu Wang,H Shen,L Xue,Y Liu,Xiaojuan Yan,Jun Shen,Kaiissar Mannoor,Janaki Deepak,James M. Donahue,Sanford A. Stass,Lingxiao Xing,Feng Jiang +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of miR-486-5p in the progression and metastasis of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sputum microRNA biomarkers for identifying lung cancer in indeterminate solitary pulmonary nodules.
Lingxiao Xing,Jian Su,Maria A. Guarnera,Howard Zhang,Ling Cai,Rixin Zhou,Sanford A. Stass,Feng Jiang +7 more
TL;DR: Sputum miRNA biomarkers may improve LDCT screening for lung cancer in heavy smokers by preoperatively diagnosing malignant SPNs by proving sensitivity and specificity and a prospective study in a large population is needed.
