Journal ArticleDOI

Hepatitis C virus infection in patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

TL;DR: Antibodies against HCV were found in 30% of NHL and HCV viraemia in 32% of cases, and this prevalence is particularly significant when compared with HCV seropositivity in Hodgkin's lymphoma and healthy controls.
Journal ArticleDOI

Infection of Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells by Hepatitis C Virus in Mixed Cryoglobulinemia

TL;DR: Findings showed that HCV infection, alone or in combination with other factors, may be responsible for the clonal B-cell expansion underlying the systemic manifestations of MC, and may explain the appearance of a malignant non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in some subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hepatitis C Virus Genotype Analysis in Patients with Type II Mixed Cryoglobulinemia

TL;DR: The prevalence of different genotypes in HCV-positive cryoglobulinemic patients and in patients with chronic HCV infection who did not haveCryoglobulinemia was assessed to assess the variability of the HCV genome.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of B cell lymphoma in patients with Sjögren's syndrome and hepatitis C virus infection.

TL;DR: Patients with SS-HCV and B cell lymphoma are clinically characterized by a high frequency of parotid enlargement and vasculitis, an immunologic pattern overwhelmingly dominated by the presence of RF and mixed type II cryoglobulins, a predominance of MALT lymphomas, and an elevated frequency of primary extranodal involvement in organs in which HCV replicates.
