Syed Shah Hassan,Maria Paula Cruz Schneider,Rommel Thiago Jucá Ramos,Adriana Ribeiro Carneiro,Alex Ranieri,Luis C. Guimarães,Amjad Ali,Syeda Marriam Bakhtiar,Ulisses de Pádua Pereira,Anderson Rodrigues dos Santos,Siomar de Castro Soares,Fernanda Alves Dorella,Anne Cybelle Pinto,Dayana Ribeiro,Maria Silvanira Barbosa,Sintia Almeida,Vinicius A. C. Abreu,Flávia Figueira Aburjaile,Karina K Fiaux,Eudes Barbosa,Carlos R. Diniz,Flávia S. Rocha,Rashmi Saxena,Sandeep Tiwari,Vasudeo Zambare,Preetam Ghosh,Luis G.C. Pacheco,Christopher G. Dowson,Anil Kumar,Debmalya Barh,Anderson Miyoshi,Vasco Azevedo,Artur Silva +32 more
TL;DR: The genome sequence of Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis strain Cp162 is reported, collected from the external neck abscess of a camel in the United Kingdom.
Journal ArticleDOI
Proteomic Analysis Reveals Allergen Variability among Breeds of the Dust Mite Blomia tropicalis.
Eduardo Santos da Silva,Eduardo Santos da Silva,João Carlos Marques Ponte,João Carlos Marques Ponte,Márcia Barbosa da Silva,Márcia Barbosa da Silva,Carina S. Pinheiro,Luis G.C. Pacheco,Fatima Ferreira,Peter Briza,Neuza Maria Alcantara-Neves +10 more
TL;DR: The clear impact of inbreeding on allergen content shown by the study leads it to conclude that the quantification and/or identification of allergens from in-bred lines should be routinely considered for mite cultivation in order to select breeds with higher amounts of major allergens.
Book ChapterDOI
Gene Expression Analysis in Bacteria by RT-qPCR.
TL;DR: A practical approach to quantitation of the transcript levels of bacterial genes using RT-qPCR is provided, including a general protocol for obtaining good-quality bacterial RNA and a discussion on the selection and validation of candidate bacterial reference genes for data normalization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ion torrent-based nasopharyngeal swab metatranscriptomics in COVID-19.
Gubio Soares Campos,Silvia Ines Sardi,Melissa Barreto Falcão,Emília Maria Medeiros de Andrade Belitardo,Danilo J.P.G. Rocha,Carolina de Araújo Rolo,Aline Dórea Luz Menezes,Carina S. Pinheiro,Rejane Hughes Carvalho,João Paulo Pereira de Almeida,Eric R.G.R. Aguiar,Luis G.C. Pacheco +11 more
TL;DR: Depletion of human ribosomal RNA and use of an optimized in-house developed bioinformatics strategy contributed to successful detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Journal Article
Update of microbial genome programs for bacteria and archaea
Celestino Pb,de Carvalho Lr,de Freitas Lm,Fernanda Alves Dorella,Martins Nf,Luis G.C. Pacheco,Anderson Miyoshi,Azevedo +7 more
TL;DR: The current status of microbial genomes, the trends for criteria used to choose new sequencing projects, the future of microbial sequencing, and the Brazilian genome network are analyzed.
