Journal ArticleDOI
Ultraviolet Photodetector Based on GaN/AlN Quantum Disks in a Single Nanowire
Lorenzo Rigutti,Maria Tchernycheva,A. De Luna Bugallo,Gwénolé Jacopin,François H. Julien,Luiz Fernando Zagonel,Katia March,Odile Stéphan,Mathieu Kociak,R. Songmuang +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the insertion of an axial heterostructure drastically reduces the dark current with respect to the binary nanowires and enhances the photosensitivity factor up to 5 x 10(2) for an incoming light intensity of 5 mW/cm(2).
Journal ArticleDOI
Nanometer Scale Spectral Imaging of Quantum Emitters in Nanowires and Its Correlation to Their Atomically Resolved Structure
Luiz Fernando Zagonel,Stefano Mazzucco,Marcel Tencé,Katia March,Romain Bernard,Benoît Laslier,Gwénolé Jacopin,Maria Tchernycheva,L. Rigutti,F. H. Julien,R. Songmuang,Mathieu Kociak +11 more
TL;DR: The present work opens the way both to fundamental studies of quantum confinement in closely packed quantum emitters and to characterizations of optoelectronic devices presenting carrier localization on the nanometer scale.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unveiling Nanometer Scale Extinction and Scattering Phenomena through Combined Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy and Cathodoluminescence Measurements
Arthur Losquin,Arthur Losquin,Luiz Fernando Zagonel,Luiz Fernando Zagonel,Viktor Myroshnychenko,Viktor Myroshnychenko,Benito Rodríguez-González,Marcel Tence,Leonardo Scarabelli,Jens Förstner,Luis M. Liz-Marzán,Luis M. Liz-Marzán,F. Javier García de Abajo,Odile Stéphan,Mathieu Kociak +14 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that CL and EELS are closely related to optical scattering and extinction, respectively, with the addition of nanometer spatial resolution and is traced back to plasmon dissipation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nanometer Scale Spectral Imaging of Quantum Emitters in Nanowires and Its Correlation to Their Atomically Resolved Structure
Luiz Fernando Zagonel,Stefano Mazzucco,Marcel Tencé,Katia March,Romain Bernard,Benoît Laslier,Gwénolé Jacopin,Maria Tchernycheva,L. Rigutti,F. H. Julien,R. Songmuang,Mathieu Kociak +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral imaging in the UV to visible range with nanometer scale resolution of closely packed GaN/AlN quantum disks in individual nanowires using an improved custom-made cathodoluminescence system is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cathodoluminescence in the scanning transmission electron microscope
TL;DR: The purpose of this review is to present the recent advances that broke limitations, and the new possibilities offered by the modern STEM-CL technique, and to compare it with its better known sister techniques.
