Journal ArticleDOI

Anorexia of Ageing is Associated with Increased Post-Prandial Secretion of the Anorectic Gastrointestinal Hormone Peptide YY

TL;DR: If the reduction in energy intake in older healthy volunteers is the result of a reduction in appetite, caused by an alteration in the release of gastrointestinal appetite hormones, is investigated in 58 healthy volunteers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Increased pressor effect of repeated doses of rat or porcine endothelin in the anaesthetised rat

TL;DR: The first response in each rat was of longer duration than subsequent responses, especially with rat endothelin, and Repeated doses of either peptide in the same rat produced a larger pressor response with each repetition, the peak response being reached more rapidly.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neuropeptide content of purified rat brain cholinergic synaptosome subpopulations.

TL;DR: The most enriched neuropeptide was NPY followed by SP and VIP, which has not previously been reported in cortical cholinergic neurones, and somatostatin was not enriched in the cholinerg synaptosome subpopulation.
