TL;DR: It is clear from data collated that the impact from musculoskeletal conditions and trauma varies among different parts of the world and is influenced by social structure, expectation and economics, and that it is most difficult to measure impact in less developed nations, where the predicted increase is greatest.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation with the novel‐generation Navitor device: Procedural and early outcomes
Nicola Corcione,Andrea Berni,Paolo Ferraro,Alberto Morello,M. Cimmino,Michele Albanese,Luisa Nestola,Luca Bardi,Martino Pepe,Salvatore Giordano,Giuseppe Biondi-Zoccai,Stefano Rigattieri,F. Giovannelli,Arturo Giordano +13 more
TL;DR: The Navitor device is a very promising technology suitable to further expand indications and risk‐benefit profile of TAVI, as well as high deliverability and minimization of paravalvular leak.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation with Allegra: procedural and mid-term outcomes according to experience phase in a high-volume center.
Nicola Corcione,Paolo Ferraro,Alberto Morello,M. Cimmino,Michele Albanese,Martino Pepe,Salvatore Giordano,Giuseppe Biondi-Zoccai,Arturo Giordano +8 more
TL;DR: The Allegra TAVI device is associated with favorable short-to-midterm outcomes in experienced hands, and operators already proficient with other devices can achieve satisfactory results even in the early phase of adoption of Allegra.
Journal Article
Alex Plus Versus Xience Drug-Eluting Stents for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Routine Clinical Practice: A Propensity Score-Matched Analysis.
Nicola Corcione,Paolo Ferraro,Alberto Morello,M. Cimmino,Michele Albanese,Martino Pepe,Palma Luisa Nestola,Salvatore Giordano,Giuseppe Biondi-Zoccai,Arturo Giordano +9 more
TL;DR: Clinical experience to date with Alex Plus has been disappointing, despite the favorable promises, and further improvements are likely needed in the Alex Plus DES, most likely in drug delivery, before this device is considered for routine clinical use in complex patients or lesions.
Journal ArticleDOI
TAVI-CT score to evaluate the anatomic risk in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation
Nicola Corcione,Alberto Morello,Paolo Ferraro,M. Cimmino,Michele Albanese,Martino Pepe,Palma Luisa Nestola,Salvatore Giordano,Luca Bardi,Giuseppe Biondi-Zoccai,Arturo Giordano +10 more
TL;DR: In this article , a comprehensive scoring system (TAVI-CT score) was devised, including details on cardiac, aortic, iliac and femoral artery features.
