Observation of fluctuation-mediated picosecond nucleation of a topological phase

TL;DR: Atomistic simulations indicate that the fluctuation state largely reduces the topological energy barrier and thereby enables the observed rapid and homogeneous nucleation of the skyrmion phase, and suggest a path towards ultrafast topological switching in a wide variety of materials through intermediate fluctuating states.

Semiconductor detector, particularly X-ray detector, has transistor structure for readout of signal charge carriers that are generated by incident beam in semiconductor detector

TL;DR: In this paper, a coupling structure was proposed for readout of signal charge carriers generated by an incident beam in a semiconductor detector, which couples the beam-generated signal carriers with a determined drift velocity (V-drift) in the readout transistor structure.
Journal ArticleDOI

First functionality tests of a 64 × 64 pixel DSSC sensor module connected to the complete ladder readout

TL;DR: The DEPFET Sensor with Signal Compression (DSSC) detector as discussed by the authors was developed to meet the requirements set by these two X-ray Free Electron Laser (XFEL) instruments.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Validation of proton tests in air for detector calibration over a wide range of charge injection levels

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the possibility of using a pulsed monoenergetic proton beam as a diagnostic tool for semiconductor detectors' response mapping at high charge densities.
