Use of human adenovirus-based vectors for antigen expression in animals.
Ludvik Prevec,Maiko Abel Schneider,Kenneth L. Rosenthal,L. W. Belbeck,J. B. Derbyshire,Frank L. Graham +5 more
TL;DR: The utility of human adenoviral vectors for antigen expression in a number of non-human cell lines and for the induction of an immune response to the delivered antigen in anumber of species is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cortical thickness in major depressive disorder: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Jee Su Suh,Maiko Abel Schneider,Luciano Minuzzi,Glenda MacQueen,Stephen C. Strother,Sidney H. Kennedy,Benicio N. Frey,Benicio N. Frey +7 more
TL;DR: Analysis of the full sample of subjects revealed significant thinning in the MDD group in the bilateral orbitofrontal gyrus, left pars opercularis, and left calcarine fissure/lingual gyrus as well as an area of significant thickening in the left supramarginal gyrus.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of chitosan content in cationic chitosan/PLGA nanoparticles on the delivery efficiency of antisense 2'-O-methyl-RNA directed against telomerase in lung cancer cells.
Sebastian Taetz,Noha Nafee,Julia Beisner,K. Piotrowska,Christiane Baldes,Thomas E. Mürdter,Hanno Huwer,Maiko Abel Schneider,Ulrich F. Schaefer,Ulrich Klotz,Claus-Michael Lehr +10 more
TL;DR: The uptake into A549 lung cancer cells is mediated via complexes of 2OMR and chitosan/PLGA nanoparticles despite the weak binding in cell culture medium, and the nanoparticles were well tolerated and efficient in inhibiting telomerase activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The urgent necessity for adequate health policies and for the training of professionals regarding the needs of transgender and gender diverse people in Brazil is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neuron-glia Interaction as a Possible Pathophysiological Mechanism of Bipolar Disorder.
Jairo Vinícius Pinto,Ives Cavalcante Passos,Diego Librenza-Garcia,Grasiela Marcon,Maiko Abel Schneider,Joao Henrique Conte,Joao Pedro Abreu da Silva,Luiza Nunes Pereira Lima,André Quincozes-Santos,Marcia Kauer-Sant Anna,Flávio Kapczinski +10 more
TL;DR: A review of neuron-glia interactions and their role in the pathophysiology and treatment of bipolar disorder concludes that astrocytes may have arole in the progression of bipolar Disorder, as these cells amplify inflammatory response and maintain glutamate homeostasis, preventing excitotoxicity.
