Early uplift and orogenic deformation in the Neuquén Basin: Constraints on the Andean uplift from U–Pb and Hf isotopic data of detrital zircons

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the provenance of detrital sediments of the Neuquen Basin in Central Argentina using U-Pb and Lu-Hf isotopic composition of zircon grains in order to evaluate the timing of uplift of the southern Andes at these latitudes (36°-39°S).
Journal ArticleDOI

Intraplate Late Jurassic deformation and exhumation in western central Argentina: Constraints from surface data and U–Pb detrital zircon ages

TL;DR: In this article, a stratigraphic and structural record of a Jurassic pulsed contractional deformation is derived from field surveys and integrated with detrital zircon ages of the exposed portion of the Huincul High to quantify the significance of this intraplate deformation in the relief generation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Filling the Gap: New Precise Early Cretaceous Radioisotopic Ages from the Andes

TL;DR: In this article, two tuffs in the Lower Cretaceous Agrio Formation, Neuquen Basin, provided U-Pb zircon radioisotopic ages of 129.09±0.16 Ma and 127.42± 0.15 Ma.
