Open anastomosis: an alternative for proximal vein graft anastomoses in significantly diseased aortas
TL;DR: A simple technique of constructing proximal vein graft anastomoses, in an open fashion, under brief periods of very low pump flows, without complications in patients with significantly diseased ascending aorta wall is described.

Ascending thoracic aorta aneurysm surgery and aortic valve repair during pregnancy.
TL;DR: A 31‐year‐old pregnant woman underwent surgery for a large ascending aorta aneurysm threatening rupture in the 12th week and then went on to a cesarean section at 38 weeks, which produced a healthy baby.
