TL;DR: Current risk scores do not provide a reliable estimate of exact operative mortality in an individual patient with VHD and should be interpreted with caution and only used as part of an integrated approach, which incorporates other patient characteristics, the clinical context, and local outcome data.

TL;DR: Management of tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is becoming an increasingly difficult decision-making problem, and experience has shown that TR does not always disappear, and may increase, especially when the mitral and/or aortic valve disease is not completely or adequately resolved during surgery, as happens sometimes in cases with less than perfect correction of mitral Regurgitation or stenosis.
