Journal ArticleDOI
miR-221/222 overexpession in human glioblastoma increases invasiveness by targeting the protein phosphate PTPμ.
Cristina Quintavalle,Michela Garofalo,Ciro Zanca,Giulia Romano,Margherita Iaboni,M del Basso De Caro,J C Martinez-Montero,Mariarosaria Incoronato,Gerard J. Nuovo,Carlo Croce,Gianluigi Condorelli +10 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that miR-221 and -222 regulate glioma tumorigenesis at least in part through the control of PTPμ protein expression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biobanking in health care: Evolution and future directions
Luigi Coppola,Alessandra Cianflone,Anna Maria Grimaldi,Mariarosaria Incoronato,Paolo Bevilacqua,Francesco Messina,Simona Baselice,Andrea Soricelli,Peppino Mirabelli,Marco Salvatore +9 more
TL;DR: Modern biobanks permit large-scale analysis for individuation of specific diseases biomarkers starting from biological or digital material with well-annotated clinical and biological data and are essential for improving personalized medical approaches.
Journal ArticleDOI
miR-340 inhibits tumor cell proliferation and induces apoptosis by targeting multiple negative regulators of p27 in non-small cell lung cancer
Serena Fernandez,Maurizio Risolino,Nadia Mandia,Francesco Talotta,Ylermi Soini,Mariarosaria Incoronato,Gerolama Condorelli,Sandro Banfi,Pasquale Verde +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that in a small cohort of NSCLC patients, representative of all four stages of lung cancer, miR-340 expression inversely correlates with clinical staging, thus suggesting that miR -340 downregulation contributes to the disease progression.
Journal ArticleDOI
miR-212 Increases Tumor Necrosis Factor–Related Apoptosis-Inducing Ligand Sensitivity in Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer by Targeting the Antiapoptotic Protein PED
Mariarosaria Incoronato,Michela Garofalo,Loredana Urso,Giulia Romano,Cristina Quintavalle,Ciro Zanca,Margherita Iaboni,Gerald Nuovo,Carlo M. Croce,Gerolama Condorelli,Gerolama Condorelli +10 more
TL;DR: The identification of microRNAs that in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) modulate PED levels and miR-212 as a negative regulator of PED expression are addressed, suggesting that miR -212 should be considered as a tumor suppressor because it negatively regulates the antiapoptotic protein PED and regulates TRAIL sensitivity
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiogenomic Analysis of Oncological Data: A Technical Survey.
Mariarosaria Incoronato,Marco Aiello,Teresa Infante,Carlo Cavaliere,Anna Maria Grimaldi,Peppino Mirabelli,Serena Monti,Marco Salvatore +7 more
TL;DR: This survey is aimed to review the state-of-the-art techniques employed in radiomics and genomics with special focus on analysis methods based on molecular and multimodal probes.
