Journal ArticleDOI
Using concept mapping in the development of the EU-PAD framework (EUropean-Physical Activity Determinants across the life course): a DEDIPAC-study
Giancarlo Condello,Fiona Chun Man Ling,Fiona Chun Man Ling,Antonino Bianco,Sebastien F. M. Chastin,Greet Cardon,Donatella Ciarapica,Daniele Conte,Cristina Cortis,Marieke De Craemer,Andrea Di Blasio,Masar Gjaka,Sylvia Hansen,Michelle Holdsworth,Licia Iacoviello,Pascal Izzicupo,Lina Jaeschke,Liliana Leone,Livia Manoni,Cristina Menescardi,Silvia Migliaccio,Julie Anne Nazare,Camille Perchoux,Caterina Pesce,Frank H. Pierik,Tobias Pischon,Angela Polito,Anna Puggina,Alessandra Sannella,Wolfgang Schlicht,Holger Schulz,Chantal Simon,Astrid Steinbrecher,Ciaran MacDonncha,Laura Capranica +34 more
TL;DR: The current framework provides a preliminary overview of factors which may account for PA behaviour across the life course and are most relevant to the European community.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of a cluster randomised control trial on objectively measured sedentary time and parental reports of time spent in sedentary activities in Belgian preschoolers: the ToyBox-study
Marieke De Craemer,Ellen De Decker,Maïté Verloigne,Maïté Verloigne,Ilse De Bourdeaudhuij,Yannis Manios,Greet Cardon +6 more
TL;DR: The ToyBox-intervention had no effect on objectively and subjectively measured sedentary time in the total sample and a longer period to implement the intervention and a more active involvement of parents/caregivers might enhance intervention effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
How does light-intensity physical activity associate with adult cardiometabolic health and mortality? Systematic review with meta-analysis of experimental and observational studies
Sebastien F. M. Chastin,Marieke De Craemer,Katrien De Cocker,Lauren Powell,Jelle Van Cauwenberg,Jelle Van Cauwenberg,Philippa M. Dall,Mark Hamer,Emmanuel Stamatakis +8 more
TL;DR: Light-intensity physical activity could play a role in improving adult cardiometabolic health and reducing mortality risk and the modest volume of the prospective epidemiological evidence base and the moderate consistency between observational and laboratory evidence inhibits definitive conclusions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Socio-economic determinants of physical activity across the life course: A "DEterminants of DIet and Physical ACtivity" (DEDIPAC) umbrella literature review
Grainne O'Donoghue,Grainne O'Donoghue,Aileen Kennedy,Anna Puggina,Katina Aleksovska,Christoph Buck,Con Burns,Greet Cardon,Angela Carlin,Donatella Ciarapica,Marco Colotto,Giancarlo Condello,Tara Coppinger,Cristina Cortis,Sara D’Haese,Marieke De Craemer,Andrea Di Blasio,Sylvia Hansen,Licia Iacoviello,Johann Issartel,Pascal Izzicupo,Lina Jaeschke,Martina Kanning,Fiona Chun Man Ling,Agnes Luzak,Giorgio Napolitano,Julie Anne Nazare,Camille Perchoux,Caterina Pesce,Tobias Pischon,Angela Polito,Alessandra Sannella,Holger Schulz,Chantal Simon,Rhoda Sohun,Astrid Steinbrecher,Wolfgang Schlicht,Ciaran MacDonncha,Laura Capranica,Stefania Boccia +39 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest that for adults, convincing evidence supports a relationship between PA and socioeconomic status (SES), especially in relation to leisure time (positive relationship) and occupational PA (negative relationship).
Journal ArticleDOI
A life course examination of the physical environmental determinants of physical activity behaviour: A “Determinants of Diet and Physical Activity” (DEDIPAC) umbrella systematic literature review
Angela Carlin,Camille Perchoux,Anna Puggina,Katina Aleksovska,Christoph Buck,Con Burns,Greet Cardon,Simon Chantal,Donatella Ciarapica,Giancarlo Condello,Tara Coppinger,Cristina Cortis,Sara D’Haese,Marieke De Craemer,Andrea Di Blasio,Sylvia Hansen,Licia Iacoviello,Johann Issartel,Pascal Izzicupo,Lina Jaeschke,Martina Kanning,Aileen Kennedy,Jeroen Lakerveld,Fiona Chun Man Ling,Fiona Chun Man Ling,Fiona Chun Man Ling,Agnes Luzak,Giorgio Napolitano,Julie Anne Nazare,Tobias Pischon,Tobias Pischon,Angela Polito,Alessandra Sannella,Holger Schulz,Rhoda Sohun,Astrid Steinbrecher,Wolfgang Schlicht,Walter Ricciardi,Walter Ricciardi,Ciaran MacDonncha,Laura Capranica,Stefania Boccia,Stefania Boccia +42 more
TL;DR: This umbrella SLR provided a comprehensive overview of the physical environment determinants of physical activity across the life course and has highlighted a number of key determinants that may be associated with overall physical activity.
