Journal ArticleDOI
Oncogenetics and minimal residual disease are independent outcome predictors in adult patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Kheira Beldjord,Sylvie Chevret,Vahid Asnafi,Françoise Huguet,Marie-Laure Boulland,Thibaut Leguay,Xavier Thomas,Jean-Michel Cayuela,Nathalie Grardel,Yves Chalandon,Nicolas Boissel,Beat W. Schaefer,Eric Delabesse,Hélène Cavé,Patrice Chevallier,Agnes Buzyn,Thierry Fest,Oumedaly Reman,Jean-Paul Vernant,Véronique Lhéritier,Marie C. Béné,Marina Lafage,Elizabeth Macintyre,Norbert Ifrah,Hervé Dombret +24 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that genetic abnormalities are important predictors of outcome in adult ALL not fully recapitulated by early response to therapy, as assessed by immunoglobulin/T-cell receptor minimal residual disease (MRD) levels.
Journal ArticleDOI
New mechanisms of AML1 gene alteration in hematological malignancies.
TL;DR: Here, the mechanisms of AML1 deregulation induced by point mutations and amplification are focused on and a comparison study of five patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) found that three of them have M0 AML.
Journal ArticleDOI
A chromosome 12 coding region is juxtaposed to the MYC protooncogene locus in a t(8;12)(q24;q22) translocation in a case of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Ruth Rimokh,Jean-Pierre Rouault,Kamal Wahbi,Mylène Gadoux,Marina Lafage,Eric Archimbaud,Christiane Charrin,Odile Gentilhomme,D. Germain,Jacques Samarut,Jean-Pierre Magaud +10 more
TL;DR: A preferential expression of this new gene, which is termed BTGI (for B‐cell translocation gene I) was observed in the CLL cells and in tissues of lymphoid origin, and this chromosome 12 coding sequence is conserved in evolution and a transcript of similar size is present in murine tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI
The benefit of induction chemotherapy in patients age > or = 75 years.
Norbert Vey,Diane Coso,Valerie-Jeanne Bardou,Anne-Marie Stoppa,Anne-Chantal Braud,Reda Bouabdallah,Daniele Sainty,Marie-Joelle Mozziconacci,Marina Lafage,Gandhi Damaj,Didier Blaise,Jean-Albert Gastaut,Dominique Maraninchi +12 more
TL;DR: A retrospective study comparing the outcomes among these elderly patients with the outcome among younger patients to assess the impact of intensive treatment approaches in this age group of acute myeloid leukemia patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
PRDM16 (1p36) translocations define a distinct entity of myeloid malignancies with poor prognosis but may also occur in lymphoid malignancies
François Duhoux,Geneviève Ameye,Khadija Bahloula,Marie-Joelle Mozziconacci,Sophy Laibe,Iwona Wlodarska,Lucienne Michaux,Pascaline Talmant,Steven Richebourg,Eric Lippert,Frank Speleman,Christian Herens,Stéphanie Struski,Sophie Raynaud,Nathalie Nadal,Marina Lafage,Nathalie Auger,Jeanne-Marie Libouton,Jean-Baptiste Demoulin,Hélène Poirel +19 more
TL;DR: Survival data suggest that patients with AML/MDS and PRDM16 translocations have a poor prognosis despite a simple karyotype and a median age of 65’years, and there seems to be an over‐representation of late‐onset therapy‐related myeloid malignancies.
