Human-animal interactions and bat coronavirus spillover potential among rural residents in Southern China

TL;DR: The low seroprevalence observed in this study suggests that bat coronavirus spillover is a rare event, which can be used to support targeted biological behavioral surveillance in high-risk geographic areas in order to reduce the risk of zoonotic disease emergence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular mimicry and ankylosing spondylitis: possible role of a novel sequence in pullulanase of Klebsiella pneumoniae

TL;DR: IgG antibody levels in AS patients were elevated against 16mer synthetic peptides of HLA‐B27 and pulD by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) compared to controls (P < 0.001).
Journal ArticleDOI

Shared amino acid sequences between major histocompatibility complex class II glycoproteins, type XI collagen and Proteus mirabilis in rheumatoid arthritis.

TL;DR: In this paper, the additive effect of the immune responses to two Proteus mirabilis antigens, haemolysin (ESRRAL) and urease (IRRET), could be relevant in the aetiopathogenesis of RA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antimicrobial activities of pomegranate rind extracts: enhancement by addition of metal salts and vitamin C

TL;DR: This study has validated the exploration of PRE along with additives such as metal salts and vitamin C as novel antimicrobial combinations and is the first report demonstrating the enhanced efficacy of PRE/metal salt combinations in the presence of the stabilising agent vitamin C.
