Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide linkage analysis of carotid artery lumen diameter: the strong heart family study.
Jonathan N. Bella,Jonathan N. Bella,Shelley A. Cole,Sandy Laston,Laura Almasy,Anthony G. Comuzzie,Elisa T. Lee,Lyle G. Best,Richard R. Fabsitz,Barbara V. Howard,Jean W. MacCluer,Mary J. Roman,Richard B. Devereux,Harald H H Göring +13 more
TL;DR: Significant evidence for loci influencing carotid artery lumen diameter on chromosome 7q and suggestive linkage on chromosomes 12q and 9q is found.
Journal Article
Aortic Root Dilatation as a Cause of Isolated, Severe Aortic Regurgitation
Mary J. Roman,Richard B. Devereux,Nathaniel W. Niles,Clare Hochreiter,Paul Kligfield,Nina Sato,Mariane C. Spitzer,Jeffrey S. Borer +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the relation of aortic root dilatation to regurgitation was evaluated in 102 patients with severe severe acute aortal vascular events, using clinical, echocardiographic, and radionuclide cineangiographic findings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cardiovascular Outcomes in Aortopathy: GenTAC Registry of Genetically Triggered Aortic Aneurysms and Related Conditions.
Kathryn W. Holmes,Sheila Markwardt,Kim A. Eagle,Richard B. Devereux,Jonathan W. Weinsaft,Federico M. Asch,Scott A. LeMaire,Cheryl L. Maslen,Howard K. Song,Dianna M. Milewicz,Siddharth K. Prakash,Dongchuan Guo,Shaine A. Morris,Reed E. Pyeritz,Rita K. Milewski,William Ravekes,Harry C. Dietz,Ralph V. Shohet,Michael Silberbach,Mary J. Roman +19 more
TL;DR: The GenTAC registry as discussed by the authors was used to compare age distribution and probability of elective surgery for proximal aortic aneurysm, any dissection surgery, and cardiovascular mortality among aortopathy etiologies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relation of Ultra-Low Frequency Heart Rate Variability to the Clinical Course of Chronic Aortic Regurgitation
Lisa A. Freed,Kenneth M. Stein,Jeffrey S. Borer,Clare Hochreiter,Phyllis G. Supino,Richard B. Devereux,Mary J. Roman,Paul Kligfield +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that reduced ultra-low frequency HRV measured as SDANN is strongly related to progression to valve surgery in asymptomatic and minimally symptomatic patients with chronic AR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of arterial compliance by carotid midwall strain-stress relation in hypertension
TL;DR: Stress-corrected midwall strain identifies patients with reduced arterial compliance, increased arterial wall thickness, and abnormal left ventricular geometry better than conventional measures based on arterial lumen diameters.
