Journal ArticleDOI
Incidence and Predictors of Early and Late Mortality After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation in 663 Patients With Severe Aortic Stenosis
Corrado Tamburino,Davide Capodanno,Angelo Ramondo,Anna Sonia Petronio,Federica Ettori,Gennaro Santoro,Silvio Klugmann,Francesco Bedogni,Francesco Maisano,Antonio Marzocchi,Arnaldo Poli,David Antoniucci,Massimo Napodano,Marco De Carlo,Claudia Fiorina,Gian Paolo Ussia +15 more
TL;DR: Benefit of TAVI with the CoreValve Revalving System is maintained over time up to 1 year, with acceptable mortality rates at various time points, although procedural complications are strongly associated with early mortality at 30 days.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation in failed bioprosthetic surgical valves.
Danny Dvir,John G. Webb,Sabine Bleiziffer,Miralem Pasic,Ron Waksman,Susheel Kodali,Marco Barbanti,Azeem Latib,Ulrich Schaefer,Josep Rodés-Cabau,Hendrik Treede,Nicolo Piazza,David Hildick-Smith,Dominique Himbert,Thomas Walther,Christian Hengstenberg,Henrik Nissen,Raffi Bekeredjian,Patrizia Presbitero,Enrico Ferrari,Amit Segev,Arend de Weger,Stephan Windecker,Neil Moat,Massimo Napodano,M. Wilbring,Alfredo Giuseppe Cerillo,Stephen Brecker,Didier Tchetche,Thierry Lefèvre,Federico De Marco,Claudia Fiorina,Anna Sonia Petronio,Rui Campante Teles,Luca Testa,Jean Claude Laborde,Martin B. Leon,Ran Kornowski +37 more
TL;DR: The survival of patients after transcatheter valve-in-valve implantation inside failed surgical bioprosthetic valves was determined and stenosis was worse than regurgitation among patients with structural valve deterioration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement for Degenerative Bioprosthetic Surgical Valves Results From the Global Valve-in-Valve Registry
Danny Dvir,John G. Webb,Stephen Brecker,Sabine Bleiziffer,David Hildick-Smith,Antonio Colombo,Fleur Descoutures,Christian Hengstenberg,Neil Moat,Raffi Bekeredjian,Massimo Napodano,Luca Testa,Thierry Lefèvre,Victor Guetta,Henrik Nissen,José M. de la Torre Hernández,David Roy,Rui Campante Teles,Amit Segev,Nicolas Dumonteil,Claudia Fiorina,Michael Gotzmann,Didier Tchetche,Mohamed Abdel-Wahab,Federico De Marco,Andreas Baumbach,Jean Claude Laborde,Ran Kornowski +27 more
TL;DR: The valve-in-valve procedure is clinically effective in the vast majority of patients with degenerated bioprosthetic valves, and safety and efficacy concerns include device malposition, ostial coronary obstruction, and high gradients after the procedure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anatomical and Procedural Features Associated With Aortic Root Rupture During Balloon-Expandable Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement
Marco Barbanti,Tae Hyun Yang,Josep Rodes Cabau,Corrado Tamburino,David A. Wood,Hasan Jilaihawi,Phillip Blanke,Raj Makkar,Azeem Latib,Antonio Colombo,Giuseppe Tarantini,Rekha Raju,Ronald K. Binder,Giang Nguyen,Melanie Freeman,Henrique Barbosa Ribeiro,Samir R. Kapadia,James K. Min,Gudrun Feuchtner,Ronen Gurtvich,Faisal Alqoofi,Marc P. Pelletier,Gian Paolo Ussia,Massimo Napodano,Fabio Sandoli de Brito,Susheel Kodali,Bjarne L. Nørgaard,Nicolaj C. Hansson,Gregor Pache,Sergio Cánovas,Hongbin Zhang,Martin B. Leon,John G. Webb,Jonathon Leipsic +33 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that LVOT calcification and aggressive annular area oversizing are associated with an increased risk of aortic root rupture during TAVR with balloon-expandable prostheses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation: 3-year outcomes of self-expanding CoreValve prosthesis.
Gian Paolo Ussia,Marco Barbanti,Anna Sonia Petronio,Giuseppe Tarantini,Federica Ettori,Antonio Colombo,Roberto Violini,Angelo Ramondo,Gennaro Santoro,Silvio Klugmann,Francesco Bedogni,Francesco Maisano,Antonio Marzocchi,Arnaldo Poli,Marco De Carlo,Massimo Napodano,Claudia Fiorina,Federico De Marco,David Antoniucci,Emanuela de Cillis,Davide Capodanno,Corrado Tamburino +21 more
TL;DR: This multicentre study demonstrates that TAVI with the 18-Fr CoreValve ReValving System is associated with sustained clinical and functional cardiovascular benefits in high-risk patients with symptomatic aortic stenosis up to 3-year follow-up.
