Time-Resolved Measurement of Interatomic Coulombic Decay in Ne2
Kirsten Schnorr,Arne Senftleben,M. Kurka,Artem Rudenko,Lutz Foucar,Gerhard Schmid,Alexander Broska,Thomas Pfeifer,Kristina Meyer,Denis Anielski,Rebecca Boll,Daniel Rolles,Matthias Kübel,Matthias F. Kling,Ying Jiang,S. Mondal,T. Tachibana,K. Ueda,Tatiana Marchenko,Marc Simon,G. Brenner,Rolf Treusch,S. Scheit,Vitali Averbukh,Joachim Ullrich,Claus Dieter Schröter,R. Moshammer +26 more
TL;DR: The lifetime of interatomic Coulombic decay (ICD) in Ne2 is determined via an extreme ultraviolet pump-probe experiment at the Free-Electron Laser in Hamburg by deducing the ICD lifetime of the Ne2(+)(2s(-1)) state to be (150±50)fs, in agreement with quantum calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Attosecond tracing of correlated electron-emission in non-sequential double ionization
Boris Bergues,Matthias Kübel,Nora G. Johnson,Nora G. Johnson,B. Fischer,Nicolas Camus,K. J. Betsch,K. J. Betsch,O. Herrwerth,Arne Senftleben,A. Max Sayler,A. Max Sayler,Tim Rathje,Tim Rathje,Thomas Pfeifer,Itzik Ben-Itzhak,Robert Jones,Gerhard G. Paulus,Gerhard G. Paulus,Ferenc Krausz,Robert Moshammer,Joachim Ullrich,Matthias F. Kling,Matthias F. Kling +23 more
TL;DR: The experimental results and the proposed semiclassical model provide strong constraints for the development of theories and lead us to revise common assumptions about the mechanism that governs double ionization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Review of attosecond resolved measurement and control via carrier–envelope phase tagging with above-threshold ionization
Tim Rathje,Tim Rathje,Nora G. Johnson,Max Möller,Frederik Süßmann,D. Adolph,Matthias Kübel,Reinhard Kienberger,Matthias F. Kling,Gerhard G. Paulus,A. M. Sayler,A. M. Sayler +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, a real-time, single-shot carrier-envelope phase (CEP) tagging technique for few-cycle pulses was developed and combined with cold-target recoil-ion momentum spectroscopy and velocity-map imaging to investigate and control CEP-dependent processes with attosecond resolution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interference Carpets in Above-Threshold Ionization: From the Coulomb-Free to the Coulomb-Dominated Regime
Ph. Korneev,S. V. Popruzhenko,S. P. Goreslavski,Tian-Min Yan,Dieter Bauer,Wilhelm Becker,Matthias Kübel,Matthias F. Kling,Christian Rödel,Martin Wünsche,Gerhard G. Paulus +10 more
TL;DR: The velocity map recorded in above-threshold ionization of xenon at 800 nm exhibits a distinct carpetlike pattern of maxima and minima for emission in the direction approximately perpendicular to the laser polarization, which is well reproduced by a numerical solution of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Subfemtosecond steering of hydrocarbon deprotonation through superposition of vibrational modes
Ali S. Alnaser,Matthias Kübel,R. Siemering,Boris Bergues,Nora G. Kling,K. J. Betsch,Yunpei Deng,J. Schmidt,Zeyad A. Alahmed,Abdallah M. Azzeer,J. Ullrich,Itzik Ben-Itzhak,R. Moshammer,Ulf Kleineberg,Ferenc Krausz,R. de Vivie-Riedle,Matthias F. Kling +16 more
TL;DR: This work demonstrates steering of deprotonation from symmetric acetylene molecules on subfemtosecond timescales before the break-up of the molecular dication in a laser-induced dissociation of hydrocarbons.
