The precision array for probing the epoch of re-ionization: eight station results
Aaron R. Parsons,Aaron R. Parsons,Donald C. Backer,Griffin Foster,Melvyn Wright,Richard F. Bradley,Richard F. Bradley,Nicole E. Gugliucci,Chaitali R. Parashare,Erin E. Benoit,James E. Aguirre,Daniel C. Jacobs,Chris Carilli,David Herne,Mervyn J. Lynch,Jason Manley,Dan Werthimer +16 more
TL;DR: The Precision Array for Probing the Epoch of Re-ionization (PAPER) as mentioned in this paper was developed to detect 21 cm emission from the early universe, when the first stars and galaxies were forming.
Journal ArticleDOI
Jet-Launching Structure Resolved Near the Supermassive Black Hole in M87
Sheperd S. Doeleman,Sheperd S. Doeleman,Vincent L. Fish,David E. Schenck,David E. Schenck,Christopher Beaudoin,Ray Blundell,Geoffrey C. Bower,Avery E. Broderick,Avery E. Broderick,Richard Chamberlin,Robert Freund,Per Friberg,Mark Gurwell,Paul T. P. Ho,Mareki Honma,Makoto Inoue,Thomas P. Krichbaum,James W. Lamb,Abraham Loeb,Colin J. Lonsdale,Daniel P. Marrone,James M. Moran,Tomoaki Oyama,Richard L. Plambeck,Rurik A. Primiani,Alan E. E. Rogers,Daniel L. Smythe,Jason SooHoo,Peter A. Strittmatter,Remo P. J. Tilanus,Michael Titus,Jonathan Weintroub,Melvyn Wright,Ken H. Young,Lucy M. Ziurys +35 more
TL;DR: Radio interferometry observations of the elliptical galaxy M87 are reported that spatially resolve the base of the jet in this source, suggesting that the M87 jet is powered by an accretion disk in a prograde orbit around a spinning black hole.

TL;DR: The Precision Array for Probing the Epoch of Reionization (PAPER) as discussed by the authors was developed to detect 21cm emission from the early Universe, when the first stars and galaxies were forming.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present λ 1.3 mm combined array for Research in Millimeter-wave Astronomy observations of dust polarization toward 30 star-forming cores and eight star-formation regions from the TADPOL survey.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interferometric Detection of Linear Polarization from Sagittarius A* at 230 GHz
TL;DR: This article measured the linear polarization of Sagittarius A* to be 7.2% ± 0.6% at 230 GHz using the BIMA array with a resolution of 36 × 09.
