Acoustic radiation force impulse quantification: repeatability of measurements in selected liver segments and influence of age, body mass index and liver capsule-to-box distance
Ounali S. Jaffer,P. F. C. Lung,Diana Bosanac,Vanash M. Patel,Samantha Ryan,Michael A. Heneghan,Alberto Quaglia,Paul S. Sidhu +7 more
TL;DR: With trained operators, ARFI is a reliable and reproducible method of liver stiffness quantification in segments 5/6 and 7/8 but acquisition of measurements from segment 3 should be avoided.
Journal ArticleDOI
Review article: the modern management of autoimmune hepatitis
TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarized the latest evidence regarding the pathogenesis, diagnosis, therapy and long-term management of AIH with a focus on clinical aspects of the disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of coronary artery disease in potential liver transplant recipients.
TL;DR: In assessing LT recipients, a management paradigm of “quadruple assessment” is suggested to include (1) history, examination, and electrocardiogram; (2) transthoracic echocardiograms; (3) functional testing; and (4) where appropriate, direct assessment of CAD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Factors Associated With Outcomes of Patients With Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis and Development and Validation of a Risk Scoring System.

Chapman,Martine Walmsley,Gideon M. Hirschfield,Simon M. Rushbrook,Simon M. Rushbrook +27 more
TL;DR: Two risk scoring systems based on age, values of bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, albumin, platelets, presence of extrahepatic biliary disease, and variceal hemorrhage predicted 2‐year and 10‐year outcomes with good discrimination, and the development and validation of a real‐world scoring system to identify those patients most likely to die or require liver transplantation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pregnancy and sexual function in liver transplantation.
TL;DR: This poster presents a probabilistic procedure to select patients suitable for liver transplantation based on prior history and once they provide informed consent for surgery, the procedure is straightforward and straightforward to perform.
