Journal ArticleDOI
Improved optimization for the robust and accurate linear registration and motion correction of brain images
Journal ArticleDOI
Saliency, Scale and Image Description
Timor Kadir,Michael Brady +1 more
TL;DR: A multiscale algorithm for the selection of salient regions of an image is introduced and its application to matching type problems such as tracking, object recognition and image retrieval is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
MRI-Based Attenuation Correction for PET/MRI: A Novel Approach Combining Pattern Recognition and Atlas Registration
Matthias Hofmann,Florian Steinke,Verena Scheel,Guillaume Charpiat,Jason Farquhar,Philip Aschoff,Michael Brady,Bernhard Schölkopf,Bernd J. Pichler +8 more
TL;DR: A combination of local pattern recognition and atlas registration is used to predict pseudo-CT images from a given MR image, which allows reliable MRI-based attenuation correction for human brain scans and enables PET quantification with a mean error of 3.2%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimating the bias field of MR images
R. Guillemaud,Michael Brady +1 more
TL;DR: The authors show that replacing the class other, which includes all tissue not modeled explicitly by Gaussians with small variance, by a uniform probability density, and amending the expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm appropriately, gives significantly better results.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Novelty detection for the identification of masses in mammograms
TL;DR: An alternative approach is explored in which a description of normality is attempted using the large number of available mammograms which do not show any evidence of mass-like structures to try and identify candidate masses in previously unseen images analysis and interpretation.
