High Resolution Mid-Infrared Imaging of the Nucleus of NGC 1068

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors obtained mid-infrared images of the nucleus of NGC 1068 from the Hale 5 m telescope at Mt. Palomar with diffraction-limited resolution and high sensitivity at 8.8, 10.3, and 12.5 microns.

A progress report on using bolometers cooled by adiabatic demagnetization refrigeration

TL;DR: The most sensitive bolometer had an estimated noise equivalent power (NEP) of 7 x 10(exp 017) W Hz(exp -1/2) as mentioned in this paper, which is the state-of-the-art.
Book ChapterDOI

The Wide-Field Infrared Explorer (Wire) Mission

TL;DR: The Wide-Field Infrared Explorer (WIRE) as discussed by the authors is a small spaceborne telescope designed to study the evolution of starburst galaxies and is capable of detecting typical starbursts at z ~ 05, ultraluminous infrared galaxies beyond а z~2, and luminous protogalaxies beyond z ~ 5.

IRAS observations of an optical sample of interacting galaxies

TL;DR: In this article, an optically selected sample of closely interacting disk galaxies and comparisons with a control sample of isolated disk galaxies were made. And the average 60-100 µm color temperatures of the interacting galaxies were higher than those of the isolated disk galaxy.
