Exposure to hate speech increases prejudice through desensitization.
TL;DR: Three studies are the first to elucidate the effects of exposure to hate speech on outgroup prejudice and find that the effects were mediated by a lower sensitivity tohate speech, and not by lower sensitivity in the context of social norms.

TL;DR: The authors found that omnivores distinguish human characteristics from animalistic ones more sharply than vegetarians do, while both groups do not differ in distinguishing human characteristic from mechanistic ones, while vegetarians did not differentiate these animals.
