Cryo-EM structures of tau filaments from SH-SY5Y cells seeded with brain extracts from cases of Alzheimer’s disease and corticobasal degeneration
Airi Tarutani,Sofia Lövestam,Xianjun Zhang,Abhay Kotecha,Andrew C Robinson,David M. A. Mann,Yuko Saito,Shigeo Murayama,Taisuke Tomita,Michel Goedert,Sjors H.W. Scheres,Masato Hasegawa +11 more
TL;DR: In this article , electron cryo-microscopy (cryo-EM) structures of tau filaments from undifferentiated seeded SH-SY5Y cells, that transiently expressed N-terminally HA-tagged 1N3R or 1N4R human tau, using brain extracts from individuals with AD or CBD.

Mutation ∆K281 in MAPT causes Pick’s disease
Manuel Schweighauser,Holly J. Garringer,Therése Klingstedt,K. Peter R. Nilsson,Masami Masuda-Suzukake,Jill R. Murrell,Shannon L. Risacher,R. Vidal,Sjors H.W. Scheres,Michel Goedert,Bernardino Ghetti,Kathy Newell +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the core of tau filaments was made of residues K254-F378 of 3R Tau and was indistinguishable from Pick's disease and they concluded that MAPT mutation ∆K281 causes Pick's Disease.
