Oil production from algal cells of Dunaliella tertiolecta by direct thermochemical liquefaction

TL;DR: In this paper, the algal cells of Dunaliella tertiolecta with a moisture content of 78.4 wt% were converted directly into oil by thermochemical liquefaction at around 300°C and 10 MPa.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of methanol concentration on the production of human β2-glycoprotein I domain V by a recombinant Pichia pastoris: A simple system for the control of methanol concentration using a semiconductor gas sensor

TL;DR: A simple and inexpensive methanol control system will help bioengineering studies on the production of recombinant proteins in P. pastoris, the growth and production of objective proteins in which the energy for the production competed with that for cell growth.
Journal ArticleDOI

A balanced DO-stat and its application to the control of acetic acid excretion by recombinant Escherichia coli.

TL;DR: During fed‐batch cultivation of a recombinant Escherichia coli AT2471 harboring plasmid pSY130–14 for phenylalanine production, a large amount of acetic acid was excreted by the cells and accumulated in the culture medium, and a novel control strategy, called a balanced DO‐stat, was developed to prevent acetic Acid excretion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cellulase production by a solid state culture system

TL;DR: Cell biomass grown on solid substrate was estimated by measuring oxygen consumption rate and glucosamine content of the cells and this reliable method of estimating the cell growth rate enabled us to simulate the enzyme production in a solid culture system by means of multiple linear regression analysis.
