Matrix type and landscape attributes modulate avian taxonomic and functional spillover across habitat boundaries in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest

TL;DR: In this article, the authors quantify avian α and β diversity across two dominant types of forest-matrix interfaces (forestpasture and forest-eucalyptus plantations) within the Atlantic Forest biodiversity hotspot in southeast Brazil.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modeling the Potential Geographic Distribution of Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) in Asia Using GIS Tools

TL;DR: In this paper, a maximum entropy based on ecological niche modeling was used to model the bioclimatic niches of the species in its Asian range, and the minimum temperature of the coldest month, the mean monthly temperature range and the precipitation of the wettest month were identified as highly effective factors in the distribution of black pepper and could possibly account for the crop's distribution pattern.
Journal ArticleDOI

Habitat quality, not habitat amount, drives mammalian habitat use in the Brazilian Pantanal

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated how habitat use by herbivores and frugivorous mammals is shaped by a potential interaction of habitat amount and quality in the Brazilian Pantanal wetland.
Journal ArticleDOI

Composição florística e fitofisionomia de remanescentes disjuntos de Cerrado nos Campos Gerais, PR, Brasil - limite austral do bioma

TL;DR: In this article, an analises floristicas e fitofisionomicas of 30 remanescentes of cerrado in seis municipios of Brazil were performed, with a total of 1.782 taxons.
