Enhance the optical absorptivity of nanocrystalline TiO2 film with high molar extinction coefficient ruthenium sensitizers for high performance dye-sensitized solar cells
Feifei Gao,Yuan Wang,Dong Shi,Jing Zhang,Mingkui Wang,Xiaoyan Jing,Robin Humphry-Baker,Peng Wang,Shaik M. Zakeeruddin,Michael Grätzel +9 more
TL;DR: Two new heteroleptic polypyridyl ruthenium complexes are reported with high molar extinction coefficients by extending the pi-conjugation of spectator ligands, with a motivation to enhance the optical absorptivity of mesoporous titania film and charge collection yield in a dye-sensitized solar cell.
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly Efficient Light-Harvesting Ruthenium Sensitizer for Thin-Film Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells
Chia Yuan Chen,Mingkui Wang,Jheng Ying Li,Nuttapol Pootrakulchote,Leila Alibabaei,Cevey Ha Ngoc-Le,Jean David Decoppet,Jia Hung Tsai,Carole Grätzel,Chun Guey Wu,Shaik M. Zakeeruddin,Michael Grätzel +11 more
TL;DR: A high molar extinction coefficient heteroleptic ruthenium complex, incorporating an electron-rich hexylthio-terminal chain, has been synthesized and demonstrated as an efficient sensitizer for dye-sensitized solar cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
CoS Supersedes Pt as Efficient Electrocatalyst for Triiodide Reduction in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells
Mingkui Wang,Alina M Anghel,Benoît Marsan,Ngoc-Le Cevey Ha,Nuttapol Pootrakulchote,Shaik M. Zakeeruddin,Michael Grätzel +6 more
TL;DR: An efficient nonplatinized flexible counter electrode for dye-sensitized solar cells using an amphiphilic ruthenium polypyridyl photosensitizer with higher electrocatalytic activity for the reduction of triiodide is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficient CdSe quantum dot-sensitized solar cells prepared by an improved successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction process.
Hyo Joong Lee,Mingkui Wang,Peter Chen,Daniel R. Gamelin,Shaik M. Zakeeruddin,Michael Grätzel,Md. K. Nazeeruddin +6 more
TL;DR: Light-harvesting properties and transient voltage decay/impedance measurements confirmed that CdTe-terminated CdSe QD cells gave better charge-collection efficiencies and kinetic parameters than corresponding Cd selenideQD cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-performance dye-sensitized solar cells based on solvent-free electrolytes produced from eutectic melts
Yu Bai,Yiming Cao,Jing Zhang,Mingkui Wang,Renzhi Li,Peng Wang,Shaik M. Zakeeruddin,Michael Grätzel +7 more
TL;DR: The concept of using eutectic melts to produce solvent-free liquid redox electrolytes to produce mesoscopic DSCs is introduced and excellent stability and an unprecedented efficiency of 8.2% under air-mass 1.5 global illumination are reached.
