Ancestral Variations of the PCDHG Gene Cluster Predispose to Dyslexia in a Multiplex Family.

TL;DR: The observed association of PCDHG genes encoding neural adhesion proteins reinforces the hypothesis of aberrant neuronal connectivity in the pathophysiology of dyslexia and the striking conservation of the identified variants indicates a role of PC DHG in the evolution of highly specialized cognitive skills critical to reading.

A rigorous framework for detecting SARS-CoV-2 spike protein mutational ensemble from genomic and structural features.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors temporally track 527,988 SARS-CoV-2 genomes and identify invariant and hypervariable regions within the spike protein and find that the maximum number of lineage-defining mutations were present in the N-terminal domain (NTD).
Journal ArticleDOI

Targeted exome sequencing in anti-factor H antibody negative HUS reveals multiple variations

TL;DR: It is concluded that genetic testing for multiple genes in patients with aHUS negative for anti-FH antibodies reveals multiple candidate variations that require prioritization and population data on variation frequency of the Indian population and supportive functional studies are likely to improve diagnostic yield.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation of mitochondrial DNA variations among Indian Friedreich's ataxia (FRDA) patients.

TL;DR: This study identifies the functionally important variations and mitochondrial lineage of Indian FRDA cases and underscores the importance of studying the role of mitochondrial genome variations in FRDA.
