Review on phase change material emulsions and microencapsulated phase change material slurries: Materials, heat transfer studies and applications
TL;DR: In this paper, a compilation of information on two latent thermal fluids: PCM emulsions and microencapsulated phase change materials (mPCM slurries) is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modeling a radiant floor system with Phase Change Material (PCM) integrated into a building simulation tool: Analysis of a case study of a floor heating system coupled to a heat pump
TL;DR: In this article, a model developed to simulate a radiant floor system with PCM in simple building types is presented, where the PCM floor heating system is fed by a heat pump which mainly operates during night time, thus reducing the costs of electric energy consumption.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental analysis of a microencapsulated PCM slurry as thermal storage system and as heat transfer fluid in laminar flow
TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental analysis using a slurry with a 10% weight concentration of paraffin has been conducted to study it as a thermal storage material and as a heat transfer fluid.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unconventional experimental technologies available for phase change materials (PCM) characterization. Part 1. Thermophysical properties

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show equipment developed in different research centers and universities to analyze thermophysical properties, such as specific heat, latent heat and melting temperature, and thermal conductivity and diffusivity of PCM and hybrid PCM materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental analysis of the influence of microcapsule mass fraction on the thermal and rheological behavior of a PCM slurry
TL;DR: In this paper, a microencapsulated PCM (phase change material) slurry with three different PCM mass fractions (14, 20 and 30%) has been analyzed and the influence of the PCM microcapsule mass fraction on the thermal and rheological characterization has been determined.
