Journal ArticleDOI
Lipophilic drug derivatives in liposomes
TL;DR: The present review discusses the advantages and limitations of incorporating drugs in the lipid domain of the vesicle, which include ion pair formation and pharmacosomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
A comparative study of top-down and bottom-up approaches for the preparation of nanosuspensions of glipizide
TL;DR: In this paper, it was concluded that ratio of polymer to drug, milling time and milling speed played significant role in controlling the zeta potential of nanosuspension prepared by media milling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Treatment strategies against diabetes: Success so far and challenges ahead.
Rubiya Khursheed,Sachin Kumar Singh,Sheetu Wadhwa,Bhupinder Kapoor,Monica Gulati,Rajan Kumar,Arya Kadukkattil Ramanunny,Ankit Awasthi,Kamal Dua +8 more
TL;DR: Different treatment strategies for diabetes management starting from insulin therapy to synbiotics are discussed, including the combination of herbal phytoconstituents with synthetic drugs, synthetic drug combinations, novel drug delivery systems for insulin are highlighted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Application of liposomes in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis: quo vadis
TL;DR: The fast clearance of intra-synovially administered drugs can be overcome by use of liposomes leading to increased uptake of drugs by the target synovial cells, which in turn reduces the exposure of nontarget sites and eliminates most of the undesirable effects associated with therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increasing complexity and interactions of oxidative stress in chronic respiratory diseases: An emerging need for novel drug delivery systems
Kamal Dua,Kamal Dua,Kamal Dua,Vamshikrishna Malyla,Gautam Singhvi,Ridhima Wadhwa,Rapalli Vamshi Krishna,Shakti D. Shukla,Madhur D. Shastri,Dinesh Kumar Chellappan,Pawan Kumar Maurya,Saurabh Satija,Meenu Mehta,Monica Gulati,Nicole G. Hansbro,Trudi Collet,Rajendra Awasthi,Gaurav Gupta,Alan Hsu,Philip M. Hansbro +19 more
TL;DR: Recent trends in various novel drug delivery carriers including microparticles, microemulsions, microspheres, nanoparticles, liposomes, dendrimers, solid lipid nanocarriers etc which can help in combating the oxidative stress in CRDs and ultimately reducing the disease burden and improving the quality of life with CRDs patients are highlighted.
