Journal ArticleDOI
Enalapril and Carvedilol for Preventing Chemotherapy-Induced Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction in Patients With Malignant Hemopathies : The OVERCOME Trial (preventiOn of left Ventricular dysfunction with Enalapril and caRvedilol in patients submitted to intensive ChemOtherapy for the treatment of Malignant hEmopathies)
Xavier Bosch,Montserrat Rovira,Marta Sitges,Ariadna Domenech,José T. Ortiz-Pérez,Teresa M. de Caralt,Manuel Morales-Ruiz,Rosario J. Perea,Mariano Monzo,Jordi Esteve +9 more
TL;DR: Combined treatment with enalapril and carvedilol may prevent LVSD in patients with malignant hemopathies treated with intensive chemotherapy, and the clinical relevance of this strategy should be confirmed in larger studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Randomized multicenter trial of foscarnet versus ganciclovir for preemptive therapy of cytomegalovirus infection after allogeneic stem cell transplantation
Pierre Reusser,Hermann Einsele,John Lee,Liisa Volin,Montserrat Rovira,Dan Engelhard,Jürgen Finke,Catherine Cordonnier,Hartmut Link,Per Ljungman +9 more
TL;DR: After allogeneic SCT, preemptive therapy of CMV infection with foscarnet shows similar efficacy as with ganciclovir, but is associated with a lower proportion of patients who develop severe neutropenia and who require discontinuation of antiviral therapy due to hematotoxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Psychiatric Morbidity and Impact on Hospital Length of Stay Among Hematologic Cancer Patients Receiving Stem-Cell Transplantation
Jesús M. Prieto,Jordi Blanch,Jorge Atala,Enric Carreras,Montserrat Rovira,E. Cirera,Cristóbal Gastó +6 more
TL;DR: The data indicate high psychiatric morbidity and an association with longer LOS, underscoring the need for early recognition and effective treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Haematopoietic SCT in severe autoimmune diseases: updated guidelines of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
John A. Snowden,Riccardo Saccardi,Matthieu Allez,Sandro Ardizzone,Raoul Arnold,Ricard Cervera,Christopher P. Denton,Christopher J. Hawkey,Myriam Labopin,G. L. Mancardi,Roland Martin,John Moore,Jakob Passweg,Christoph Peters,Marco Rabusin,Montserrat Rovira,J.M. van Laar,Dominique Farge +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide revised and updated guidelines for both the current application and future development of haematopoietic SCT in ADs in relation to the benefits, risks and health economic considerations of other modern treatments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Invasive fungal infections after allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation: incidence and risk factors in 395 patients
Rodrigo Martino,Maricel Subirá,Montserrat Rovira,Carlos Solano,Lourdes Vázquez,Guillermo Sanz,Alvaro Urbano-Ispizua,Salut Brunet,Rafael de la Cámara +8 more
TL;DR: Non‐Candida IFI was an important cause of infectious morbidity and mortality after an HLA‐identical sibling PBSCT, while invasive candidiasis was rare and prophylactic strategies for these infections should thus take into account these risk factors.
