Effect of Composts, Lime and Diammonium Phosphate on the Phytoavailability of Heavy Metals in a Copper Mine Tailing Soil
TL;DR: In this paper, soil samples from a historic copper mine tailing site at the Parys Mountain, North Wales (UK) were amended with green waste compost (GC), GC+30% sewage sludge (GCS), lime and diammonium phosphate (DAP), to determine the effect of amendments on DTPA and Ca(NO3)2-extractable metals in the mine tailings and on the phytoavailability of heavy metals by a lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.).
Journal ArticleDOI
Heavy metals immobilization and improvement in maize (Zea mays L.) growth amended with biochar and compost.
Muhammad Irfan,Muhammad Mudassir,Muhammad Jamal Khan,Khadim Dawar,Dost Muhammad,Ishaq Ahmad Mian,Waqas Ali,Shah Fahad,Shah Fahad,Shah Saud,Zafar Hayat,Taufiq Nawaz,Shah Alam Khan,Sartaj Alam,Beenish Ali,Jan Banout,Sagher Ahmed,Sidra Mubeen,Subhan Danish,Rahul Datta,Abdallah M. Elgorban,Raf Dewil +21 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated biochar and compost's comparative effect on Pb, Cd, and Cr immobilization in soil, photosynthesis, and growth of maize plants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phosphorus Nutrient Management through Synchronization of Application Methods and Rates in Wheat and Maize Crops.
Rafiullah,Muhammad Jamal Khan,Dost Muhammad,Shah Fahad,Muhammad Adnan,Fazli Wahid,Saud Alamri,Farmanullah Khan,Khadim Dawar,Inam Irshad,Subhan Danish,Muhammad Arif,Amanullah,Shah Saud,Bushra Khan,Ishaq Ahmad Mian,Rahul Datta,Tayebeh Zarei,Anis Ali Shah,Musarrat Ramzan,Muhammad Zafar-ul-Hye,Maria Mussarat,Manzer H. Siddiqui +22 more
TL;DR: Field trials showed that foliar spray of 144 mM KH2PO4 at knee height + tasseling and stem elongation + boot stages in wheat and maize significantly enhanced grains yield and phosphorus use efficiency (PUE) where P was applied as banding or broadcast at the time of sowing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Response of Maize to Different Levels of Sulfur
TL;DR: A field experiment was conducted to assess the effect of different levels of sulfur (S) on yield and yield components of maize crop grown on silt loam soils at the Agriculture Research Station Baffa, district Mansehra as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of AquaCrop Model in Simulating Sugar Beet Canopy Cover, Biomass and Root Yield under Different Irrigation and Field Management Practices in Semi-Arid Regions of Pakistan
TL;DR: In this article, the AquaCrop model was analyzed for simulating sugar beet crop production under four irrigation regimes, three mulching conditions and three furrow irrigation systems in semi-arid region of Pakistan.
