Deposits of clastic carbonate-dominated (calciclastic) sedimentary slope systems in the rock record have been identified mostly as linearly-consistent carbonate apron deposits, even though most ancient clastic carbonate slope deposits fit the submarine fan systems better. Calciclastic submarine fans are consequently rarely described and are poorly understood. Subsequently, very little is known especially in mud-dominated calciclastic submarine fan systems. Presented in this study are a sedimentological core and petrographic characterisation of samples from eleven boreholes from the Lower Carboniferous of Bowland Basin (Northwest England) that reveals a >250 m thick calciturbidite complex deposited in a calciclastic submarine fan setting. Seven facies are recognised from core and thin section characterisation and are grouped into three carbonate turbidite sequences. They include: 1) Calciturbidites, comprising mostly of highto low-density, wavy-laminated bioclast-rich facies; 2) low-density densite mudstones which are characterised by planar laminated and unlaminated muddominated facies; and 3) Calcidebrites which are muddy or hyper-concentrated debrisflow deposits occurring as poorly-sorted, chaotic, mud-supported floatstones. Observation of a new boson at a mass of 125 GeV with the CMS experiment at the LHC

We discuss the theoretical bases that underpin the automation of the computations of tree-level and next-to-leading order cross sections, of their matching to parton shower simulations, and of the merging of matched samples that differ by light-parton multiplicities. We present a computer program, MadGraph5 aMC@NLO, capable of handling all these computations — parton-level fixed order, shower-matched, merged — in a unified framework whose defining features are flexibility, high level of parallelisation, and human intervention limited to input physics quantities. We demonstrate the potential of the program by presenting selected phenomenological applications relevant to the LHC and to a 1-TeV e + e − collider. While next-to-leading order results are restricted to QCD corrections to SM processes in the first public version, we show that from the user viewpoint no changes have to be expected in the case of corrections due to any given renormalisable Lagrangian, and that the implementation of these are well under way.

The automated computation of tree-level and next-to-leading order differential cross sections, and their matching to parton shower simulations

The present study focuses on synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) by employment of a green and facile synthesis method. Aqueous extract of Helichrysum arenarium was used as a reducing and capping agent. The bioreduction of silver particles was monitored using UV–Vis spectroscopy based on increase in color intensity led by surface plasmon resonance. SEM, TEM, FTIR, DSC, and XRD analyses were followed for characterization, divulging that the nanoparticles were thermally resistant in the size of approximately 20 nm with a quasi-spherical shape without any agglomeration. AgNPs possessed a nanocrystal form with presence of crystalline Ag. EDAX analysis was used to verify that the nanoparticles were silver as revealed by a typical optical absorption peak of metallic silver nanocrystallites. The AgNPs were shown to have strong antibacterial and antifungal effects on some foodborne pathogens. The method developed in this study could offer a green, facile biomimetic, and cost-effective method.

Evaluation of Tp-e İnterval, Tp-e/qt Ratio and Tp-e/ Qtc Ratio in Patients with Acute Pulmonary Thromboembolism

The majority of bronchogenic cysts occur in the mediastinum and especially within the pulmonary parenchyma. Bronchogenic cysts have various clinical and radiological manifestations. In adults, these are often asymptomatic and most of them are only incidentally recognized in imaging procedures. In infancy and early childhood, compression of the tracheobronchial tree leads to symptoms and occasionaly life-threatening complications. Bronchogenic cysts have been stated rarely among the causes of an arythmia in early childhood. We reported a 7-years old female presented with paroxysmal palpitation continuing for one month. Contrast enhanced computed tomography showed cystic mass in the right hemi-thorax, compressing the right atrium. After surgical removal histopathologic examination revealed a lining of respiratory epithelium associated with a wall containing smooth muscle, a finding that is characteristic of bronchogenic cyst.

Cervical metastasis in ovarian cancer is a rare entity. Therefore, care should be taken in the differential diagnosis of cervical masses as it may mimic a primary tumor. This report aimed to emphasize the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in these tumors. We present a case of a 73-year-old female who presented with post-menopausal vaginal bleeding and cervical mass. The patient was diagnosed with ovarian carcinoma with a multidisciplinary approach. Although cervical metastasis of ovarian cancer is rare, the possibility of secondary cancer should be kept in mind, especially in cervical tumors with atypical clinical course.

Ovarian Carcinoma Presenting With a Large Cervical Mass

Some insects cause high losses of the common bean during storage, namely, Acanthoscelides obtectus Say. Chemical insecticides are commonly used to control insects, but their overuse adversely affects the environment and consumers' health. There is, therefore, the need for an alternative control method. This study was aimed to evaluate the chemical characterization and insecticidal property of Moringa oleifera seed extract on the developmental stages of A. obtectus in stored beans. Three types of M. oleifera seed extracts, namely methanol, ethanol and acetone extracts, were used at doses of 12.5, 25 and 50 µl/ml each. HPLC-MS was used to characterize these extracts. The toxicity of extracts against the adults, the number of eggs and the viability rate of laid or emerged eggs of A. obtectus were evaluated. The results show that M. oleifera seed extract is rich in Hesperidin, Quinic acid, gallic acid, protocatechuic acid, 4-OH benzoic acid, cynaroside, isoquercitrin, cosmosiin, quercitrin, luteolin, naringenin, salicylic acid, Apigenin and Fumaric acid. The acetone extract, from day 2, showed a 100% mortality rate in all doses compared to about only 14% in the control treatment. The number of eggs laid in control (236.67) was higher than the null (0) in acetone treatment at 50 µl/ml. M. oleifera seed extracts contain chemical molecules. They significantly reduced the damage caused by A. obtectus on stored P. vulgaris grains. Therefore, they can be used as an alternative to chemicals for the protection of stored foodstuffs.
