Minocycline selectively inhibits M1 polarization of microglia
Kazuyoshi Kobayashi,Shiro Imagama,Tomohiro Ohgomori,Kenichi Hirano,Kenji Uchimura,Kazuma Sakamoto,Akihiro Hirakawa,Hideyuki Takeuchi,Akio Suzumura,Naoki Ishiguro,Kenji Kadomatsu +10 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that minocycline selectively inhibits the microglia polarization to a proinflammatory state, and provides a basis for understanding pathogeneses of many diseases accompanied by microglial activation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Human dental pulp-derived stem cells promote locomotor recovery after complete transection of the rat spinal cord by multiple neuro-regenerative mechanisms
Kiyoshi Sakai,Akihito Yamamoto,Kohki Matsubara,Shoko Nakamura,Mami Naruse,Mari Yamagata,Kazuma Sakamoto,Ryoji Tauchi,Norimitsu Wakao,Shiro Imagama,Hideharu Hibi,Kenji Kadomatsu,Naoki Ishiguro,Minoru Ueda +13 more
TL;DR: It is reported that transplantation of human dental pulp stem cells into the completely transected adult rat spinal cord resulted in marked recovery of hind limb locomotor functions and that tooth-derived stem cells may provide therapeutic benefits for treating SCI through both cell-autonomous and paracrine neuroregenerative activities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simultaneous Absolute Protein Quantification of Transporters, Cytochromes P450, and UDP-Glucuronosyltransferases as a Novel Approach for the Characterization of Individual Human Liver: Comparison with mRNA Levels and Activities
Sumio Ohtsuki,Olaf Schaefer,Hirotaka Kawakami,Tae Inoue,Stephanie Liehner,Asami Saito,Naoki Ishiguro,Wataru Kishimoto,Eva Ludwig-Schwellinger,Thomas Ebner,Tetsuya Terasaki +10 more
TL;DR: Findings indicate that protein expression levels determined by the present simultaneous quantification method are a useful parameter to assess differences of hepatic function between individuals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Postmarketing surveillance of the safety profile of infliximab in 5000 Japanese patients with rheumatoid arthritis
Tsutomu Takeuchi,Yoshihiko Tatsuki,Y. Nogami,Naoki Ishiguro,Yoshiya Tanaka,Hisashi Yamanaka,Naoyuki Kamatani,Masayoshi Harigai,Junnosuke Ryu,K Inoue,Hirobumi Kondo,Shigeko Inokuma,Takahiro Ochi,Takao Koike +13 more
TL;DR: This postmarketing surveillance study of patients treated with infliximab showed that inflixIMab in combination with low-dose MTX was well tolerated in Japanese patients with active RA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transplantation of marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells and platelet-rich plasma during distraction osteogenesis--a preliminary result of three cases.
Hiroshi Kitoh,Takahiko Kitakoji,Hiroki Tsuchiya,Hirohito Mitsuyama,Hiroshi Nakamura,Mitsuyasu Katoh,Naoki Ishiguro +6 more
TL;DR: Although these results are still preliminary, transplantation of osteoblast-like cells and PRP, which seemed to be a safe and minimally invasive cell therapy, could shorten the treatment period by acceleration of bone regeneration during distraction osteogenesis.
