Journal ArticleDOI
Development of copper(II)-diimine-iminodiacetate mixed ligand complexes as potential antitumor agents
Natalia Alvarez,Luis F.S. Mendes,M. Gabriela Kramer,María H. Torre,Antonio J. Costa-Filho,Javier Ellena,Gianella Facchin +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis and characterization of eight compounds with general formula [Cu(iminodiacetate)(diimine)(H2O)x], with x = 0 or 1, and their cytotoxic activities against tumor cells were presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis, structural characterization and cytotoxic activity of ternary copper(II)-dipeptide-phenanthroline complexes. A step towards the development of new copper compounds for the treatment of cancer
Sebastián Iglesias,Natalia Alvarez,María H. Torre,Eduardo Kremer,Javier Ellena,Ronny R. Ribeiro,Rafael P. Barroso,Antonio J. Costa-Filho,M. Gabriela Kramer,Gianella Facchin +9 more
TL;DR: This work presents the synthesis and characterization of six copper complexes with general stoichiometry [Cu(L-dipeptide)(phen)]·nH2O and their cytotoxic activities against tumor cell lines and hypothesize that [Ala-Phe)(phen] may be a good candidate for further studies in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis, structural characterization and DNA interaction of new copper-terpyridine complexes
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis and structural characterization of two new copper terpyridine (terpy) complexes: [Cu(terpy)(SO4)(H2O)]·2H2
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and structural characterization of a series of ternary copper(II)-L-dipeptide-neocuproine complexes. Study of their cytotoxicity against cancer cells including MDA-MB-231, triple negative breast cancer cells.
Natalia Alvarez,Diana Viña,Celisnolia M. Leite,Luis F.S. Mendes,Alzir A. Batista,Javier Ellena,Antonio J. Costa-Filho,Gianella Facchin +7 more
TL;DR: The synthesis and characterization of eight copper complexes and their cytotoxic activities against tumor cell lines are suggested to be promising steps towards new effective drugs to treat cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel Solid Solution of the Antiretroviral Drugs Lamivudine and Emtricitabine
Jéssica de Castro Fonseca,Juan Carlos Tenorio Clavijo,Natalia Alvarez,Javier Ellena,Alejandro Ayala +4 more
TL;DR: The formation of a nonconventional solid solution was verified, whose crystalline structure is not defined by any of the individual constituents but by the one of the lamivudine hydrate with emtricitabine as a solute.
