Photochemistry of macrocyclic ketones within zeolites: competition between norrish type I and type II reactivity

TL;DR: In this article, photolysis of macrocyclic mono-and diketones (1 and 2) included in X and Y zeolites gives Norrish type I products in addition to the products obtained via the Norrish Type II process, the only observed process in isotropic media.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxidation of glycerol to formaldehyde by microsomes: are glycerol radicals produced in the reaction pathway?

TL;DR: The results suggest the oxidant derived from the interaction of H2O2 with iron apparently cleaves glycerol to formaldehyde without the formation of a radical intermediate, which may be produced at a too low concentration to be detected or the radical intermediate may not be formed as a free species and therefore cannot be spin-trapped.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photodegradation of pyrene-labeled polystyrene adsorbed on silica surface in chloroform

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported on the photodegradation of the pyrene labels on polystyrene (PS) adsorbed onto metals, silica, glass, and mica.
