Journal ArticleDOI
Platelet-rich plasma in the conservative treatment of painful tendinopathy: a systematic review and meta-analysis of controlled studies.
TL;DR: Pooling pain outcomes over time and across different tendons showed that L-PRP injections ameliorated pain in the intermediate-long term compared with control interventions, but these findings cannot be applied to the management of individual patients given low power and precision.
Journal ArticleDOI
Plantar fascia-specific stretching versus radial shock-wave therapy as initial treatment of plantar fasciopathy.
Jan D. Rompe,Angelo Cacchio,Lowell Weil,John P. Furia,Joachim Haist,Volker Reiners,Christoph Schmitz,Nicola Maffulli +7 more
TL;DR: A program of manual stretching exercises specific to the plantar fascia is superior to repetitive low-energy radial shock-wave therapy for the treatment of acute symptoms of proximal plantar fasciopathy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pulsed magnetic and electromagnetic fields in experimental achilles tendonitis in the rat: a prospective randomized study.
TL;DR: PMF 17Hz resulted in a greater reduction of inflammation, with a better return of the tendon to histological normality, and if there is no delay between injury and beginning of pulsed magnetic treatment, PMF 17 should be used.
Book ChapterDOI
Aetiology and prevention of injuries in elite young athletes
TL;DR: Active prevention measures are the main weapon to decrease the (re-)injury rate and to increase athletic performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multidirectional Instability of the Shoulder: A Systematic Review.
Umile Giuseppe Longo,Giacomo Rizzello,Mattia Loppini,Joel Locher,Stefan Buchmann,Nicola Maffulli,Nicola Maffulli,Vincenzo Denaro +7 more
TL;DR: Arthroscopic capsular plication and open capsular shift are the best surgical procedures for treatment of MDI after failure of rehabilitative management.
