Use of ruxolitinib in COPA syndrome manifesting as life-threatening alveolar haemorrhage

TL;DR: A 11-year-old girl with disease limited to major pulmonary haemosiderosis manifesting at the age of 2 years, due to a heterozygous p.(Arg233His) mutation in COPA was treated with the JAK1/2 inhibitor ruxolitinib, which resulted in reduction in IFN signalling and appeared to be associated with partial though incomplete decrease in the severity of her pulmonary disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Wide Spectrum of COVID-19 Clinical Presentation in Children

TL;DR: The youngest patients seem to present milder forms of COVID-19 without the need for ICU treatment and with a shorter length of hospitalization, which suggests intra-familial transmission that needs to be further assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Human Bronchial Epithelial Cells Inhibit Aspergillus fumigatus Germination of Extracellular Conidia via FleA Recognition

TL;DR: In this article, the role of bronchial epithelial cells, i.e., the BEAS-2B cell line and human primary cells, in conidial germination of a laboratory strain and three clinical strains of Aspergillus fumigatus was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nocturnal hypoventilation in Down syndrome children with or without sleep apnea

TL;DR: There is a high prevalence of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in children with Down syndrome (DS), sometimes associated with alveolar hypoventilation.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Lung ultrasound in children with interstitial lung disease: a pilot study

TL;DR: LUS could be an interesting tool for screening and monitoring children with ILD, reducing their exposure to x-rays in comparison to CT, and demonstrated a good correlation between LUS and CT images.
