TL;DR: The clinical analysis of the 238 mutation carriers revealed a high proportion of both asymptomatic carriers and patients unaware of symptoms, and permitted the redefinition of this frequent form of AD-HSP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased major histocompatibility complex antigen expression in unilateral ischemic acute tubular necrosis in the mouse.
TL;DR: Unilateral ischemic ATN causes increased MHC expression in tubular cells and the accumulation of an inflammatory infiltrate, both of which may contribute to the increased rate of rejection and graft loss in ischemically injured kidneys.
Journal ArticleDOI
Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder in renal allograft recipients. Clinical experience and risk factor analysis in a single center.
TL;DR: A retrospective analysis was carried out on 162 cadaveric renal transplants performed between July 1987 and December 1990 and four cases of polymorphic PTLD were seen, two of which presented with fatal disseminated disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Urokinase-type plasminogen activator and outcome in Dukes' B colorectal cancer
Hugh Mulcahy,D. P. O’Donoghue,Michael J. Duffy,David Gibbons,P. McCarthy,Nollaig A. Parfrey,Kieran Sheahan +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that u-PA may be useful in the identification of patients with non-metastatic colorectal cancer at risk of tumour recurrence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Familial hemiplegic migraine and autosomal dominant arteriopathy with leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL)
Michael Hutchinson,Jonathon O'Riordan,Mohammed Javed,Etain Quin,Donal P. MacErlaine,Teresa Willcox,Nollaig A. Parfrey,Tamas G. Nagy,Elisabeth Tournier-Lasserve +8 more
TL;DR: The phenotype at presentation of CADASIL in this family was variable and age related and included familial hemiplegic migraine, migraine with and without aura, transient ischemic attacks, strokes, and spinal cord infarction.
