Between Land and Sea: An Airborne LiDAR Field Survey to Detect Ancient Sites in the Chekka Region/Lebanon Using Spatial Analyses
Jakob Rom,Florian Haas,Manuel Stark,Fabian Dremel,Michael Becht,Karin Kopetzky,Christoph Schwall,Michael Wimmer,Norbert Pfeifer,Mahmoud Mardini,Hermann Genz +10 more
TL;DR: The interdisciplinary project "Between Land and Sea" combines geological, geomorphological and paleo-environmental approaches to identify archaeological remains of the Chekka region (Lebanon) as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Automated Reconstruction of Historic Roof Structures from Point Clouds - Development and Examples
TL;DR: A set of methods was developed for the fully automated analysis of the roof constructions, including integration of architectural and structural modeling, and preliminary results showed that the developed methods work well for beams in flawless condition with a quadratic cross section and no bending.

Emerging outcomes from a cross-disciplinary doctoral programme on water resource systems
Gemma Carr,Anicet R. Blanch,Alfred Paul Blaschke,R. Brouwer,Christian Bucher,Andreas H. Farnleitner,Alexia Fürnkranz-Prskawetz,Daniel P. Loucks,Eberhard Morgenroth,Eberhard Morgenroth,Juraj Parajka,Norbert Pfeifer,Helmut Rechberger,Wolfgang Wagner,Matthias Zessner,Günter Blöschl +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore the emerging outcomes from an ongoing doctoral program currently in its seventh year and explore whether cross-disciplinary and mono-disciplinary research leads to more innovative scientific findings.
Derivation of a countrywide river network based on Airborne Laser Scanning DEMs - results of a pilot study
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the results of a pilot study carried out for the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management for the extraction of the countrywide river network based on 1 m Digital Terrain and Surface Models (DTM/DSM) derived from Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS) for rivers with a catchment area less than 100 km 2.
Journal ArticleDOI
