Degradation of nitrobenzene at near neutral pH using Fe2+–glutamate complex as a homogeneous Fenton catalyst

TL;DR: In this article, the degradation of nitrobenzene (NB) by modified Fenton reaction at near neutral pH conditions using Fe II -glutamate complex as a source of Fe 2+.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrasonic assisted-Fenton-like degradation of nitrobenzene at neutral pH using nanosized oxides of Fe and Cu.

TL;DR: Hydroxyl radicals-degradation pathway is suggested and adopted to explain the differences noted in rate constants recorded on using different oxides.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extending the working pH of nitrobenzene degradation using ultrasonic/heterogeneous Fenton to the alkaline range via amino acid modification

TL;DR: Modification of both oxides with increasing amounts of arginine increased the degradation efficiency of (I) in a more regular way than in case of (II), however, the extent of improvement due to amino acid modification was higher in caseof (II) because of its originally low degradation efficiency in strongly alkaline media.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation on the sonocatalytic degradation of nitrobenzene using heterogeneous nanostructured catalysts in absence and presence of surfactant

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on the sonocatalytic degradation of NB in aqueous solution assisted with H2O2 oxidant and nanostructured metal oxide catalysts, and investigated physicochemical properties of these catalysts via X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and point of zero charge (PZC).
