Journal ArticleDOI

Porous elastomeric beads from crosslinked emulsions

TL;DR: In this article, a mechanically stirred thermostated water vessel is used to obtain high porosity polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) beads with an open structure whose properties are strongly influenced by the starting composition (solvent, surfactant, and polymer types and ratios), as well as the operating parameters (agitation and temperature).
Journal ArticleDOI

Self ignition of layers of metal powder mixtures

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-dimensional axisymmetric model was applied to the ignition characteristics of zirconium (Zr), tantalum (Ta) and Zr/Ta deposits on a hot surface.
Journal ArticleDOI

Proposal of a new injection nozzle to improve the experimental reproducibility of dust explosion tests

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of the injection nozzle on the dispersion process of combustible dust in the 20 L sphere is established by developing a descriptive analysis by comparing the evolution of a dust cloud formed thanks to the standard rebound nozzle with that formed from a new symmetric nozzle.
Journal ArticleDOI

Explosions of methane/air/nanoparticles mixtures: Comparison between carbon black and inert particles

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of carbon black nanopowders insertion on the explosion severity and on the flame velocity of methane was investigated in a 20-L explosion sphere and in a 1-m vertical flame propagation tube.
