Journal ArticleDOI

Silicon heterojunction solar cells: Recent technological development and practical aspects - from lab to industry

TL;DR: In this article, the authors review the recent progress of silicon heterojunction (SHJ) solar cells and emphasize the importance of minimised recombination, not only to reach high open-circuit voltages, but also high fill-factor.
BookDOI

Thermal Behavior of Photovoltaic Devices

TL;DR: The first € price and the £ and $ price are net prices, subject to local VAT as mentioned in this paper, and prices and other details are subject to change without notice, all errors and omissions excepted.
Journal ArticleDOI

Field Performance versus Standard Test Condition Efficiency of Tandem Solar Cells and the Singular Case of Perovskites/Silicon Devices

TL;DR: It is found that annual losses due to differences between operating conditions and standard test conditions are similar for single-junction and four-terminal tandem devices, and the unusual bandgap temperature dependence of perovskites is shown to have a positive, compensating effect on current mismatch.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pathways for mitigating thermal losses in solar photovoltaics

TL;DR: Results indicate that ensuring a minimum level of conductive/convective cooling capabilities is essential and it is shown that sub-bandgap reflection and radiative cooling are strategies worth pursuing and recommend further field testing in real-time operating conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental Assessment of Temperature Coefficient Theories for Silicon Solar Cells

TL;DR: In this paper, experimental measurements aimed at assessing general theoretical expressions of temperature coefficients in the case of crystalline silicon solar cells were performed. And the relevance of a recently proposed relation between the temperature dependence of the open-circuit voltage and the external radiative efficiency of photovoltaic (PV) devices is demonstrated.
